My favorite style of beer, and to date, the best beer I’ve ever had. Everything about this beer is wonderful. My only complaint is the lack of consistancy, as not every bottle I’ve had tasted the same. I also don’t recommend drinking any more than one or two of these in a sitting, it could be a bit much.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber brown with a small khaki head that leaves a bit of lacing that mostly slides back down into the beer. Mild aroma of chocolate, hazelnut, toasted malts, toast. Taste is hazelnut up front with toasted malts, toast, and a bit of chocolate. Quick finish of toasted malts and chocolate. Medium body, thin but not quite watery palate and high carbonation. Interesting. Would like to have more hazelnut flavor, but overall good.

355ml bottle from The Beerhive. Small bubbly off white head, decent lacing. Body is slightly hazy ruby-amber. Nose is very nutty, a little chocolate. Flavour is all hazelnut, malt to the fore, only a little bitterness on the finish. Full, rich mouthfeel, little carbonation. Very good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

From tap @ BBF 2014. Pours dark amber with a small beige head. Malty, nutty aroma but very well balanced. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, nutty, candy, a bit acidic. Candy aftertaste.

Bottled. No visible foam and slightly hazy. Tastes like toffee, caramel and burned sugar. One of my favorite beers in this category.

Drank with Thierry in Eindhoven 10-4-2014. Okay beer. A bit watery. Taste a bit sweet, like ’ranja’. A bit watery also. Not bad, but not my thing. Hazelnut taste was okay but also not really my cup of tea.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, nussig, Karamell. Geschmack röstmalzig, Karamell, Haselnüsse, klasse!
