| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Chocolate and hazelnut aroma’s dominate up front with notes of toffee, caramel, a touch of roastiness, with no discernable hoppy aroma.... Pours a clear brown with a minimal head, Somewhat tingly mouthfeel... Notes of hazelnut and chocolate are present in a very above average brown ale base... Lingering hazelnut flavor... The hoppiness is subtle, it cuts the maltiness just right...

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2010 Pours clear brown with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet hazelnut and brown sugar. Taste is identical to the aroma. Mouthfeel is fairly dry with a mildly hoppy finish that turns warm and sugary. Nice brown ale but not terribly complex. Fin (3497), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Bottle that I picked up at Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove, Nr Wantage, Oxon, consumed 02-01-10 Pours dark brown with a light beige head, reasonable clarity with just a touch of haze looks pretty good. Aroma a little too sweet for me, there are nuts but it’s more of the peanut brittle kind, also a touch of tinniness. Taste was frankly quite a disappointment, its nutty and sweet so I suppose it does what it says but in fairness that’s it, offers little to me and was glad to finish it. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jan 2, 2010 650ml bottle. Pours a coffee colour with a huge collar of beige foam made up of tiny bubbles. Well carbonated and lively with a strong hazelnut aroma and an even stronger hazelnut taste, like Nutella in a bottle. Smooth nutty flavour with a hint of roasted coffee beans. Nice to sit, sip and savour. GJF (522), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 29, 2009 On tap at the sanctuary. Pours a dark brown with red hints. Very little head, despite it being pretty carbonated. On the sweet side, a good bit of roasted nut flavor but a bit cloying by the end. Didn’t do a lot for me. Toxygen (414), Sanford, Florida, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Murky brown with a very thin greyish head. Aroma is pure hazelnuts and some minerals. Flavour holds a slightly broader spectrum but its still basically only hazelnuts and light minerals, somewhat watery and very one-dimensional. Might be good of youre a roadent.
