| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2004 Pale orange/golden color, lots of bubbles, creamy white head that lasts most of the way through the drink. Creamy aroma with vanilla and honey. Flavor is sweet and malty up front with some vanilla in the flavor. Pretty bitter finish; a bit too hoppy for how light the flavor is. Average body. I continue to expect better from Rogue. steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 2, 2004 MGC under a medium small short lasting head. Faint old straw hops aroma. Medium light bodied with a softish creamy mouthfeel. Light floral nectar sweetness and and medium light hoppy bitter flavours. Just a tad on the too soft side for my tastes. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 26, 2004 Golden clear yellow color with a BIG puffy white head. Light yeasty bread aroma. Creamy smooth taste with light hop bite. I didn't taste any honey in this. Hey, someone forgot the honey in mine. Like DFH, another brewery that gains my respect for thinking outside the box. Keep it up. DerBiermeister (528), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2004 The aroma is hoppy, as is the flavour. In the palate there is cream with subtle honey flavour. It seems a little more uneven to me than Rogue's Dead Guy Ale. god (18), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 24, 2004 So far I have liked every Rouge beer placed before me, and that says a lot considering that there are many beer styles that I just don't persue normally. While they may not be the best examples of every beer style, Rouge's are always pleasent and distinctive.
Honey Cream Ale reminds me very much of vanilla cream soda. Light and fizzy with a sweet taste, it goes down easily like soda pop. Sweet, but not thick and overbearing. A great beer to drink on a hot day. It's a good beer to introduce novices to the differnt flavors that can be imparted on craft beers. You can definietly taste the honey, but it's not so strong as to alientate anyone. Perfect execution in my not-even humble opinion.
Very pale light blond color, but not pale in flavor. Goes well with salty traditional American foods like hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos, etc... A little to weak to stand up to more complex or flavorful foods like BBQ or cajun though.
I pretty much avoid light blond beers, but this one so much reminds me of my favorite soda, vanilla cream, that this might become my regular summer cool-off beer. punkeedo (491), San Antonio, Texas, USA

A full, complex beer, with (they're not lying) the flavors of honey and wheat swirling around one another in harmonious unity. As you continue to drink it, your tastebuds will tire. Once I was done, it was time to move on to a standard of mine...Yuengling Black and Tan... DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2004 Bottle from Only Fine Beer (Bottles). Amber ale with a wispy head and spidery lacing. Predominantly sweet aroma, with bitter spots. Mmmm a rather ideally blended beer: crisp, approaching harshness to start, before falling away to an almost gentle, sloping sweetness, which is where the honey parks itself. A slight bit of lemon in the finish. Jolly good stuff.
