3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 21, 2007
Draft at Lizzy McCormick’s. This one pours a hazy, glowing orange-amber color. A small, fizzy, off-white head leaves virtually no lacing behind. The aroma is classic IPA all the way, with fresh orange and grapefruit hops showing atop a sweet, rich caramel malt base. The flavor is essentially the same, though I noted that orange overtook grapefruit as the dominant hop component. Slightly more substantial than medium bodied, this brew is smooth and easy drinking. Finishes short and well balanced between sweet and bitter. Ample aromas and flavors put this one just shy of an IIPA, in my opinion. Damn solid brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 michael-pollack (4962) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 26, 2007
Draught: Hoppy aroma with notes of pine, citrus, caramel malts, and resin. Poured copper with a hint of ruby and a large, foamy, rocky, off-white head that had a peach hue to it. Very good lacing. Clear. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, fresh cut grass, and more hops. While it was very hoppy, it was not all that bitter. Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Hoppy finish. Overall a good IPA but could be more bitter.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 yayforbeer (752) - Orange Park, Florida, USA - NOV 12, 2007
50 Liter Keg (!) acquired by the president of our local brew club for a special party. It was quite a night! We were told the abv of this version was only about 4.5 (don’t know if that’s accurate, but I had several and it didn’t seem overly alcoholic) One of only 12 kegs shipped to Florida. Fresh fragrant hop aroma and dark copper-amber beer with a good thick white head. Flavor was very hoppy, start to finish. Some decent malts appeared somewhere in the middle to support the hop load, but it was always about the hops. Good finishing bitterness. A bit one dimensional, but no complaints. The hop-heads of the club loved it. Interesting and enjoyable.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 after4ever (5287) - Brier, Washington, USA - NOV 4, 2007
Draft at the Issaquah Brewhouse. Pours crystal clear bright medium copper. Thin white head, with piles of sheeting lace. Nose is surprisingly mild, though the pine and resin are certainly not shy. Crisp and bracing light-medium body. Pineapple and bold pine roar across the mid-palate. Big harshly caustic creosotey finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jason (1670) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 30, 2007
Draft. Ruby red body with thin head. Aroma is hops, citrus, caramel. Flavor is loaded with citrus hops, some caramel and lack of a mlaty body. this one seemed a little rough around the edges at times.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 sloth (2240) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - OCT 21, 2007
Draft @ statelineliquors. Pours a medium sized light tan head, retention is very good with a nice coating and sticky lace. Color is deep copper, a bright brew. Nose is piney, lightly resiny with citrusy notes as well as solid fresh grainy notes. Body is med/full with a nice carbonation level, lightly oily on the palate. Fairly aggressive fruity hoppy notes, pine and citrus, lightly earthy with a fresh tasting malty backing, sorta bready and grainy, lightly chewy. Solid hop bitterness finishes it off along with a nice fruitiness lingering along. A quaffable IPA indeed! Props to Robert for getting this in for his growler sales line. Thanks dude!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 eaglefan538 (2778) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - OCT 19, 2007
Draft at SL. The aroma was piney more than anything else, some caramel type malts underneath. The flavor was first and foremost hops, full bodied presentation of pine and citrus hops, melons and other bitter hoppy fruits. The body was full, the carbonation as expected. This didn’t stand out among the other hearty IPAs out there, although it was certainly enjoyable. Thanks, Robert!
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Cybercat (2452) - Georgia, USA - OCT 16, 2007
A must for anybody who is a hops fanatic! Color is a dark honey-golden brown with a tan head that fairly persists. Aroma is strongly hoppy. Taste is VERY hoppy and strongly bitter, not complex. This is one of the hoppiest beers I have ever sampled. It leaves a lingering hop aftertaste.
