COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On Labor Day 2004 John Maier picked up a 300 lb. load of fresh Newport hops at the Annan Hop Farm near Mt. Angel. The hops were picked just before he arrived, and were in the kettle at the brewery in Newport by 4:20 pm. Hop Heaven Ale will be ready in late September and served only on tap at the Rogue Ales Public Houses. These Newport hops are very limited and only 1.5 acres are grown by only one hop grower, John Annan.

On tap at Barley’s in Spindale, NC. Pale, cloudy, rocky head. Medium body, had a nice hoppy feel but with slight sweetness in the finish that was quite pleasant.

Reddish body, cranberry juice like with a toasted off-white head. A sweet IPA, very drinkable. Full palate of fruits as well as pine and citrus. Nice malt backbone...solid, if not unordinary, IPA.

Had on tap at mad mex on mcknight road. Poured a nice orange amber with a solid froathy white head that lasted. Aroma was citrus and grapefruit. Flavor was bitter hops, some floral and citrus hop undertones and some solid malt character as well. Overall good brew to cut through spiciness of food.

On tap at Mad Mex Robinson; I was not very impressed with this IPA. Lightly carbonated with a floral hoppy aroma. The hops are floral and citrus in the taste- more so than any beer I have sampled. I love Rogue beers...this just didn’t live up to what I expect from them.

On tap at D’s. Pours a cloudy amber color with small white head. Aroma mostly of fresh floral hops. Flavor matches aroma with some more citrus. Mouthfeel is incredibly creamy. Overall, very unoffensive but pretty unimpressive too.
