Pours a hazy deep orange gold color with off-white head, good retention and lacing. In the description it says it has been aged for 9 months, however the hop aroma is remarkably fresh for that. Sweet, citrusy fruit with some organic grassy notes. Flavor is predominantly hoppy yet not overly bitter. More citrus and some pine are the obvious flavors, a decent malt backbone provides some sweetness and complexity. A hint of spiciness. Lingering bitterness as usual with big IPAs. Medium bodied with light carbonation. This beer gets bonus points for pulling off an unusual blend of hop varieties. Svesse (2687), Hässelby, Sweden

Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus peel, grapefruit and lots of pine and resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with pine needles, grapefruit and resin. Rather sweet, hoppy and bitter finish with a touch of alcohol. Medium body. Fairly one dimensional, but the hop character is quite lovely. Very nice beer. timfoolery (484), California, USA

It is one of the smoother versions you’ll find of the genre from what I’ve tasted. Since I’ve been to the moon with Pliny and Dreadnaught, it is not the best. Still, a great brew. pjweaver (133), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Thick hoppy aroma, with buttery pollen and ruby grapefruit. Opaque golden colr with a yellow-white head. Significant resilience and lacing. Bitter hoppy flavor with cascade hops and citrus predominance. Clingy syrupy palate with nice foam feel. TaktikMTL (2798), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

Served chilled.
Pours a hazy looking orange gold body with a creamy, persistant white head.
Big hop aroma, typical intense citrus rind, particularly grapefruit, mildy grassiness and wood. Some malt sweetness detectable, but this beer just screams hops from the word go!
Dense malt body, carbonation is reasonably lively but smooth, tremendous length alluding to alot of flavour and alcohol presense, without much warmth or bitterness straightup.
Brutal hop explosion on the body; all the citrus you could possibly poke a stick at, leaf and spice, malt body makes it appearence with a slight caramel sweetness. VERY drawn out lingering bitter finish, begs another sip really.
Very nice big IPA. Plenty of balls, though im somewhat slightly disappointed with the complexity of the hop flavour itself, but thats saying alot. Fin (3495), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Bottle that I picked up at the GBBF back in August 08. This pours a hazy warm gold with a white head. The aroma is hoppy with pine notes flying off off this. The taste is sweet and citrusy quite big on grapefruit but the pine coming through as well all carried forth on a nice slightly watered down syrupy liquid with good honey flavours. The bitterness reminded me of Orval at times but only the bitterness, the flavour is a million miles away. I really enjoyed this beer. A8 A4 F8 P4 OV15 3.9
