4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 phikus01 (84) - New York, USA - MAR 5, 2013
I had this on tap and was the first double IPA I had. It would be a year or two later before I saw another one, now everyone’s got one. I liked this best when it has saaz EKG and cascade hops with the maris otter malt.

Nice yellow hazy beer with lots of hoppy aromas. The taste is nice and full with a creamy palate. Not bad, nice mix of citrus and resin in the aroma

Bottle aged 1 year post brewery release. Some sediment. Bitterness is front loaded, not a lot of aromatics or complexity.

Sample glass at brewery: Citrus aroma with a good hop profile. Clear yellow with a white head and good CO2. Great citrus profile, some toasted malt. Smooth for a big IPA, great pucker finish. Nice bitter front and back. True Big IPA!

Keg at Euston Tap 17th february.Slightly cloudy yellow pour with minimal head.Fruit, citrus and floral aroma wcich also came through in the taste.Hops came through in the taste too tho they were somewhat absent in the aroma.Nice caramel background flavour also apparent and didnt really notice the alcohol though this may have been more to do with the lateness of the hour and the previous offerings from the earlier 5 or 6 bars!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 trujahwarrior (259) - Monroe, Washington, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Pours an orangish amber color with a medium white head with good lacing. Smells of pine, resin, citrus, and caramel. Tastes of all the same things in the smell. Mouthfeel is medium and chewy with great carbonation and a dry finish. Overall this is a well balanced northwest double ipa. A little more on the hoppy side but excellent.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Scopey (3229) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2013
Keg at Euston Tap. It pours hazy amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is pine, juicy, fresh orange, tangerine, resin, a hint of coconut and alcohol. The taste is tangy citrus, tangerine, orange, pithy, pine, resinous, earth, light spice, metal and some alcohol warmth with a nicely bitter finish. Medium body, moderate-high carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Pretty tasty.
