COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Above and beyond an India Pale Ale--I2PA is radically hopped with an intense aroma and hop bitterness. Unfiltered and aged for 9 months before it leaves the brewery--not for the faint of heart. I2PA is brewed with two-row Pipkin Pale malts, Saaz, Cascade and Northwest Golding hops.

Raspberry-grapefruit aroma. Muskmellon, lemon, watermelon flavor. No alcohol evident. Body gets uber-soap-foamy right before the swallow. Finishes astringent, with lingering bitter lemon mouthfeel.

Draft at the PDX bar. Served in a big heavy goblet. Pours clear dark gold.with almost no head. Aroma is citrus, spice, apple, sweet malt. Taste is similar, bitter hops up front, then sweet, then back to bitter for the finish. I’m glad the wife encouraged me to get one more before the flight.

Hazy golden brew with a white head. Strong aromas of pine and some citrus. Tastes of powerful pine hops, some spruce/floral hops, orange zest, and caramel notes. Taste is clean and refreshing. Nice malt/hop balance. Ends on a bitter pine note with a bit of citrus. Solid beer.

Bottled. Spicy, resinous and earthy hops, caramel and slight boletus showing up in the nose. Good drinkability. Not extreme in any way- I found this double IPA to be rather balanced.

A- pour an unfiltered golden amber with a solid off white one finger of head and shows good lacing. S- strong scents of pine resin and brutal malts. Some dough, rich tropical fruits, mango accents, honey, very faint banana. M- decent medium to heavy body and medium palate. Carbonation is pretty solid as well. Nice and sticky. T- mild bite at first with notes of grapefruit, dough, honey, and sweet caramel malts. Middle is more grapefruit and mixed tropical fruit with resin. Ending is bitter and lasts with bits of pine, more grapefruit, and some soap. Good summer afternoon beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml Ceramic Swivel Top Bottle. Appearance is a hazy orange and bronze color with an inch of foam and bubbles. The aroma is a mix of pine resin, citrus peel and caramel malt sweetness. The taste is heavy on the hops resin and grapefruit rind upfront followed by notes of tropical fruit, tangerine and pine. Also some bready malt and caramel in the background. The body is a tad syrupy with medium carbonation and an intensely bitter, lemon citrus finish. Overall, a fairly enjoyable hops bomb.

Hazy gold pour. Aroma is sweet malts and piney hops. Flavour is full with some sweetness and pine. Low carbonation. Quite heavy and sweet, but the hops contrast nicely to the sweetness leaving a grapefruit/pine finish. The alcohol is noticeable.

Pours a hay golden brown from the mini bottle with thin off-white lacy Caro that spots lightly. Aroma of big amounts of resinous citrus and piney hops, with a boozy caramel malt back. Taste follows, bitter, boozy, and malty, but still plenty of hops. Pretty darn good, a bit pricey though.

At Tadg’s, 900 yen for a 235ml pour in an fantastic huge wine glass. It has a dank powerful hop aroma with pine notes and pours an amber gold with a head of foam that has good staying power & also leaves behind lots of lacing. The flavor is a bitter hop punch of pine, a nice solid IPA.

Draught @ Mikkeler Bar. Almost no aroma. Soft carbonation and medium to large body. Taste is grapefruit, lemon, zesty. Lots of hops. Moderately sweet and a little soapy.
