COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Above and beyond an India Pale Ale--I2PA is radically hopped with an intense aroma and hop bitterness. Unfiltered and aged for 9 months before it leaves the brewery--not for the faint of heart. I2PA is brewed with two-row Pipkin Pale malts, Saaz, Cascade and Northwest Golding hops.

Really strong for an IPA, but I could drink it on occasion.

Draught at Ibrew Wired. Classic pine/citrus hop bouquet, rich orange fruitiness balanced with caramel malt, dry bitter finish. Meant to try this one for a while, solid stuff, Rogue rarely messes up with their brews.

10oz on tap at HalfCut. Nice grapefruit hop up front. Some bready malt. Pine. Moderate to bigger sweet taste. Moderate bitter. Bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Kind of slick. Clear orange color. Ring of white head. Loose bits of lace. Solid, but malty; sweet.

On tap at City Beer Hall in Albany. Served in a tulip. Deep copper color with a thin head. Excellent hop profile and balance. Good malt backbone in the middle. Lingering citrus piney bitterness. Lovely!

Tap at the brewery with commonshawn, rosskyle, and wildcard. Very unique Rogue goblet. Clean appearance with an orange hue. Head disappeared quickly and wasn?t all that full in the first place. Citrus and tropical fruit in the nose with some bitterness. Mouthfeel is oily and resiny. Plenty of hops with a smooth citrus taste. Easy to drink and gets better as consumption continues. Rogue delivers an enjoyable although slightly straightforward double IPA.

Tap. Pours a light brown (?) with a thin layer of tan colored head. Aroma and taste is malt forward with some hops.

Large Format - Thick white head with large bubbles. Cloudy orange color with what looks like suspended particles in the beer. Very thick beer if that makes sense. Taste has a good amount of hop bitterness, little to no malt flavor which is good.

On tap. Pours clear golden with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, butterscotch, light sweet fruits, some alcohol. Taste is strong sweet malts, some light fruitiness again, robust vegetal bitterness, quite some booze. Oily mouthfeel, full body, light carbonation.

Pours slightly hazy to cloudy pale amber with one fingers of rocky white head, good retention and minimal lacing. (3/5) Nose is caramel malt, pithy citrus, pine resin, mild floral. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter. (6/10) Medium body, moderate to low carbonation, slightly boozy finish. (4/5) Nothing too thrilling - a fairly standard heavy-handed, malt-forward DIPA. Doesn’t excite me, doesn’t turn me off. Damned with faint praise? Maybe - but that’s about what it deserves. (12/20)
