Sep 8, 2008 Draught @ NR with brian and Mary. Roasted grain and thick cut grass hoppiness. Coffes astringency and nice full bodied flavor. Robust.

Aug 21, 2008 Dark black/brown with tan head. Chocolate roasty aroma. Roasy flavor, not burnt, creamy and chocolatey. Rich, smooth and comforting. Alcohol is noticable.

Aug 16, 2008 Black, clear brown at edges, very nice tan head lasts well. Aroma was pleasant, a mix of chocolate accented malts and pine and citric hops. Flavor was pretty much an exact match to this, perhaps with a hint of coffee mixed into the profile. Good stuff. As a completely unimportant and unrelated side note, seeing all these beers that are essentially American twists on Baltic Porter called American Strong Ales is driving me slowly crazy. It is making it very difficult to satisfactorily search for and compare these brews. This has a lot more in common with a Zywiec than it does Arrogant Bastard.

Aug 12, 2008 web site that this was to be released in april as a XS that was very similar to the mocha porter.
pours a jet black, very opaque, big frothy khaki head, excellent lacing.
smell was very apparent as soon as the cap was popped, milk chocolate, some licorice, malt.
taste is warming, dark and bakers chocolate, malt up front, licorice, some vanilla, bitter in the back, dry ending.

Aug 2, 2008 This pours a rich opaque sable with a fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma is strong and like mocha with some smokiness. Flavor is mainly of roast coffee with a smoky undertone and hints of unsweetened chocolate. Smooth, silky texture leaves a chocolaty but not sweet aftertaste.

Jul 28, 2008 Draught @ Issaquah Brew House. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Roasted malty chocolate aroma with hints of coffee and hops. Roasted malty bitter chocolate flavor with some hoppy hints.. Roasted malty chocolate finish with a long hoppy bitter aftertaste.

Jul 20, 2008 Tap at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours black with a large tan head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and a hint of smoke and ash. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good.
