dchmela (1411), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 21, 2008 Pours a deep black with a thick off white head. The aroma is hoppy with dry chocolate coffee malt. A hoppy dry chocolate malt taste with a thin porter like body. Finishes dry with a bitter hop finish. Very nice. Beerlando (2286), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 21, 2008 Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a dark mahogany brown body. A foamy, dark khaki head leaves solid sheets of lacing all the way down the glass. The aroma is big and malty, almost like a Baltic Porter, but sufficiently hoppy at the same time. Chocolate, nougat, caramel, raisons and figs are accompanied by a good deal of roast on the nose. Flavors follow suit, with the sweet but roasty malts meeting big, earthy hops. The body is nearly full, and comes off almost chewy. Finishes with bitter roast and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Solid brew. blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA Mar 12, 2008 I hear sireens gettin nearer red n blue lights in my rear view mirror. Pull over? Nope, nope, wit a car fulla smoke an a trunk fulla dope. I hit the gasser, go faster, all ya hear is duel exhaust flow master. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Mar 9, 2008 Pours near black with a receding tan head. Taste of chocolate, light roast, and rum. Full bodied with soft carbonation. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 29, 2008 Tap at public house in Portland... Opaque black with a thin brown head. Faint malt and sugary aroma. Smooth mellow palate that hugged your tongue. Straight up chocolate and
malt flavors up front with a warming licorice-like alcohol and subtle hops for balance. This us very impressive and delicious. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Feb 14, 2008 Black with a thick creamy head.
Aroma and flavor of rich, burnt roasted malts and coffee.
medium/ heavy body with a bitter roasty finish. SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 9, 2008 draft @ portland public house - served in the monster imperial goblet; jet black with thin texture and slight head only around the edges; aromas of slightly roasted malts, but more bitter and hint of alcohol; drinks much stronger than its listed 7.8% and thought the waitress said it was over 11%; also that it was aged in jack daniels barrels; either way, not a smooth drinking imperial porter by any means; jack daniels gave it an obvious and uneven bite; pretty disappointing Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Feb 4, 2008 Three pints from growler bought at Papago. Medium sweet roast aroma. Black body with thin tan head. Sweet with some roasted malts middle of the road porter. But it refreshed the palate and was a decent beer after a rainy day in the desert.
