Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Apr 14, 2009 Updated: Apr 16, 2009On tap: The aroma is very fruity (lots of plum and some grape) with some light chocolate and citrus hops. It’s a dark brown with a small brown head that quickly fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with lots of plum and light chocolate. The finish has some moderate citrus hoppiness and faint roast. Medium bodies with mild carbonation and a soft mouthfeel. Reminds me of a hoppy Baltic Porter. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 26, 2009 On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 03/09/2009. Good dark roasted malt, light cocoa aromas. Frothy mouthfeel. Very good dry blackened malt flavor with bitter bakers chocolate.
A tasty dry Porter. BillKismet (1899), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 8, 2009 Black bodied with a residual brown topping. Richly complex chocolate aroma with some piquant hopping. Deep, baking chocolate, black patent and citrus hop. Chocolatey hopped body with black patent and hop bitterness wrestling each other at the finish. Some dryness, and yes, a touch of tar.
