May 7, 2008 I was nonplussed. Pretty imbalanced in my view - the malts taste raw and the hops are overpowered by it. Not even in the top ten reds I can name.

Apr 30, 2008 Poured from a big bottle at the WBF. Poured a reddish copper with a sweet citrusy caramel spicy nose. hoppy in flavor and aroma. spicy hoppy flavor. a bit watery in the mouth. nice waxy finish.

Aroma – Big malt aroma with lots of hops in the background.
Appearance – Dark Reddish Amber in color, Nice head and clear.
Flavor – A nice well balanced beer with great malts and the hops where very subtle.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, great texture with a good dry finish.
Overall – A great pint for the night. This was a surprise to find a new beer at the Eastside. I hope they start getting ore great beers.

Apr 18, 2008 Tap. Pours a slightly hazy amber brown with a small off-white head that fades to a ring leaving good lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel, a hint of roasted malt, and a touch of floral hops. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good.

Apr 18, 2008 Ceramic bottle from Lone Hill. Dark red with a fluffy tan head. Sweet, nutmeg, caramel, spice, and mild cherry aroma and taste with a cinnamon finish and a decent hops presence.

Apr 17, 2008 750ml ceramic swing top bottle. Pours brownish red. Small but lasting tan head. Fruity malty nose, with toffee and citrus peel hop notes. Flavour of toffee and nutty malts with resiny hops, grapefruity bitterness and notes of alcohol. Pine and grapefruit linger in aftertaste. Moderate carbonation, medium bodied.

Apr 11, 2008 Very cool bottle. Dark red pour with off white fluffy head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, brown sugar. Nice dry flavor with citrus and chocolate. Body is thick and the alcohol is well-hidden. Overall, tasty, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the price.
