Appearance: hazed dark amber with hint of red , little ring of head. Nose: Strong rich caramel like character with woody hints , sweet malts blended with alcohol. Solid rich nose. Flavor/Palate : Mid bodied with thinner finish. Malt with strong alcoholic presence. Caramel malt based , sugary and semi dry top. Drinkable if sampled in colder nights. Light bitter hop feel at late finish.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2009 2009-06-06. Dark red brown body with a small tan head. (3+) Aroma is alcoholic, mild malt with a touch of caramel. (6+) Flavour is bitter over a sweetish caramel malt. Light green leafy notes to the hops, mild resin. Average plus palate. Decent but it lacks sufficient depth to support the alcohol and bitterness. Okay. Bottle at Mondial 2009, Montreal fakepurseninja (777), Washington, USA

Really nice looker but there just isnt much there to appreciate. Medium malty body with so little character I have trouble describing. The ultimate Meh Drink. rudolf (1758), Buffalo, New York, USA

An amber with good bitterness, balanced malt and some roast. Off white head lots of lace, even barleywinish. Particularly good integrated winner for people moving up the crafty brew food chain. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 1, 2009 On draft at Eugene City Brewery. Pours out a deep mahogany with a medium sized white head that faded quickly. Aroma is almost entirely caramel with a bit of a pine hop note at the end. Flavor is much the same, too overly malty with just enough hop flavor to keep it from being a mess. Not one of my favorites.
