COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Red was originally brewed in 2008. It is deep copper chestnut in color with toffee, brown sugar, nuts and spice aromas. A rich supple entry leads to an off-dry medium-full body of tangy raisins and citrus marmalade, bittersweet chocolate, and mild spice flavors. It finishes with a long nutty, fruity fade.

Malts: Great Western Harrington, Klages, Hugh Baird Crystal, Black, Munich, Chocolate and rolled oats. Hops: Willamette, Cascade and Chinook. Yeast & Water: Rogue’s Pacman Yeast & Free Range Coastal Water.

Bid muddy red pour. Quite viscous, you can almost see the calories! Big robust beer with good length. Even though it has high IBU’s it is well masked.

Pours a cloudy muddy red color no head sticks around. Lots of malty ness and almost a earthy flavor. Alcohol is there. Worst of there XS series but just my opinion. Still a good beer.

Pricey little 7 oz bottle. Floral aroma with a whiff of earth. Strong, malty, and full of grain flavor. A warming mouthful and a strong, dry, bready taste. It is a little harsh but still impressive.

Insomma, le red ale mi piacciono ma questo ha lasciato alquanto a desiderare.... Peccato.

Pony bottle back in the day. Poured a very deep copper color with small to medium head, good lace. Aromas of brown sugar, spicy hops, caramel toffee malts. Taste is somewhat stale earthy hops, sour fruits, lots of spice. Some chocolate in the aftertaste.

A broom straw flavor of malt, so the beer is slick and somewhat sweet with flavor of dark cherry wine and dried prune. after some sips i noticed a grape juice flavor somewhat slick that did not overpower the straw. some fruit punch in the frothy head. it has some nice depth.

750ml ceramic bottle with a swingtop pours a deep amber color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some nice lacing behind. Aroma is caramel with some roasted grains and citrus and earthy notes. Taste is well balanced between the caramel and roasted notes and the citrusy and earthy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with some nice carbonation leaving a pleasant sensation on the palate. As far as Imperial Red Ales go, this was outstanding. Very tasty and very highly recommended.

The aroma was big and malty, one of the more malty aromas I’ve smelled. The taste was just as big, with an excellent balance of bitter and big malty, barlerywine like flavors.

7 oz bottle of indeterminate age..... Pours chestnut brown with only an island of thin soap-like tan head into snifter... Nose is toffee, sugar, dark fruit/raisin. Taste is quite malty, sourish caramel. A dry, almost salty aspect to it. Very nutty as it warms..oily... Decent, but not a big fan of this one.

Extra malty with some fruity chocolate hints, caramel and spices. Not my thing...
