Tap. Pitch black color. Medium size, brown head, stays. Mild chocolate, sweet, touch of roast in aroma. Weak aroma overall. Alcohol, dark chocolate, unnatural roast, ashy and woody taste. Everything is taken to extreme which kind of ruins it for me. Bitter alcoholic mixture that’s what it is.

Inky black brew from the Astoria pub. Heavy beer bursting with roasted coffee and almost burnt malt flavors. Nicely hopped too. This is an awesome imperial stout. Flavortown!

Quite intense roasted malts, choco/coffee mix, bit licorice, decent hops makes great balance. Bit notes of smoked and fruits. Very smooth. Sweetish with quite intense roasted malt bitterness.
Very well balanced and enjoyable, would like to grab some more =]

$7 for the 12 oz. serving order at the Grog. Pours a mauve-tinted purplish dark brown; minimal off-white head. Aromas of candied sugar, rosemary, caramelized raisins, stale, brewed medium-roast coffee, and sugar plums. Tastes the same with the addition of crushed aspirin, burnt plastic and black pepper by swallow. Could have been a good experience, but this was much too medicinally bitter without any redeeming features.

My 3 year old daughter makes better tasting diarrhea than this shit. It’s like if the Hulk got real mad and ripped off some dirt from the road, used a high power blender on it and forced captain America to chug it (i am the captain America in this situation). Don’t drink it. If you want, fight me. I challenge you

750ml swingtop bottle, cellared for 1+ years. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate, coffee and hoppy notes. Pours black with a thin, light brown head and excellent lacing. Starts with coffee and some chocolate, the coffee not overpowering. Finishes dry with some hops as well as the roastiness of the malt. Nice.

Draught at Tadg. Black with dark tan head. Lots of chocolate and malts in the aroma. Flavour of burnt malts, coffee and smoke to go with the chocolate. Not too sweet. A very nice smooth mouthful.

Draft. Poured black with almost no head. As with most imperial stouts you get a lot of coffee and sweetness in the nose. Taste has coffee, chocolate and a bit of hops. One of my favorite Rogue beers.
