malt nose.   Smooth hop profile, very pale malts.   Not as biscuity as I would have thought.   Fairly clean, very pale apple
skin is present but near the end is overshadowed by soft lingering bitterness.   Body and mouthfeel are fairly modera
te.   As it warms a bit of alcohol is noticeable.   Seems a bit bigger than your average bitter, which is just fine with me.
Thanks Bill for the bottle!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2007 Poured an amber color with smallish head good lacing though. Aroma was citrus and lots of it and some caramel malts. Flavor was good, grapefruits and bready which i didn’t expect with a floral hop. Not bad mgumby10 (1850), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2007 Pours a reddish maroon, with a very light, thin white head. Very floral, citrus smell, somewhat subtle, with some grapefruit hops in the background. I was very surprised at the subtlety of this beer considering Rogue usually tried to overdo things. Nice hops and a little sweet cinnamon dominate the flavors. Pretty nice and balanced quite well I thought. Good job on this beer, glad they didnt overdo it. redlight (1460), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2007 Hoppy aroma, citruy, feint notes of pine. Pours amber/dark blonde. Nice flavor, not overpowering. Caramel malt, toasted notes, and pretty dry, with some citrus notes in the background, and a good spicey finish. Not overly carbonated. Good beer. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 1, 2007 Thin, off-white, fully dissipating head. Cloudy, deep amber body with brown and orange hues at the perimeter. Good looking typical Rogue lacing. Aroma is of English malt, toasty, but only slightly so. Also evident are citrusy hops creating a pleasant fruit blend of oranges and tangerines. Caramel is too heady and detracts from other subtleties that would otherwise be easily pinpointed. Strong bitterness ushers in the robust flavor. Quite sweet as well, though these qualities clash rather than unite. Palate is full bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes hoppy, neither excessively dry nor sweet, though this doesn’t seem balanced or well thought through. Light sweet caramel lingers. eaglefan538 (2360), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Poured a full amber color, off-white head, solid lacing. The aroma was citrusey, toffee, light caramel. Flavor was bready, toffee, grapefruits, finishing with a firm bitterness, somewhat piney, especially for an ESB based beer. Mouthfeel was full, hearty, a little grainy. A nice beer relative to what they were attempting, although not one of the more attractive styles. unclemattie (2410), Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2007 Poured a deep amber haze with a big white head that settled a bit after a few moments. Sweet caramelized flavor that finished with a favorably bitter complex Amarillo hop profile. Typical Rogue Pacman yeast presence and overpriced fancy ceramic bottle. Cool that it is to honor Don Younger, but uncool how expensive all these Rogue beers persist to be.
