Pours with an amber orange body topped by a thick head with good lacing left on the glass. It’s slightly sweet yet bitter and hoppy with grassy notes as well as grapefruit notes and an underlying maltiness. Medium bodied and smooth.

Brilliant copper rust color with a light tan head. Nice soft caramel aroma with a hint of vanilla. Medium body. Good bittersweet floral hop flavor riding a sweet toffee caramel malt base. Enjoyed this one.

Poured an amber body with hints of red and a short lasting head. Plenty of malt characters in the taste backed well with grapefruit, early toffee notes replaced by grain and a bit of resin. Easily drinkable for a 7.5% beer just doesn’t turn me on too much. Not too sure what is Imperial about this beer, is it just a ramped up pale ale?

Big ceramic bottle. Cloudy orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma: sweet and hoppy, caramel, grape. Taste: caramel/some light sweetness and lots of grape, mostly very bitter, metalic and boring. The aroma was much better then the taste.

Served on draft at The Thirsty Monk in Asheville. Pours a golden amber with a medium head. Poor retention and lacing. Aroma of green apple, grain and rubbing alcohol. Taste is caramel, grain and bitter hops. Medium bodied. Not good.

Slight hazy copper color, off-white head. Hoppy fruity, sweet malty, sirup, caramel, dry bitter scent, some alcohol. Dry hoppy bitter taste, harsh, grape peel, total lack of sweetness. Medium mouthfeel. Harsh bitterness, dry, medium high. Quite husky, misstake in sparging or boil? Or should it really taste like this? Taste is pretty much just dry, husky, bitter and nasty.

Bottle (75 cl) shared with gnoff & deft. Clear mahogny, medium off-white head. Fruity and caramelly aroma with some spicy hops. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Harshly bitter with a husky feeling, very unbalanced.

Bottled at SBWF08. Pours out in a hazy reddish amber colour with a small white foam. Flowers, soap and grapefruit in the aroma with touches of caramel and cookies. Medium to full-bodied with touches of grapefruit, grass, soap and cookies. Long bitter finish of grass and grapefruit. Quite edgy and unrefined
