Aug 18, 2008 Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Fruity malty hoppy aroma with some piney hints. Fruity malty hoppy bitter flavor with some hints of pine needles and grapefruit. Malty hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Aug 5, 2008 Ceramic 750 that has been in the cellar probably too long. Pours orange with a tan head. nose is malty and sweet perhaps a touch oxidized. Taste is sweet and light and malty with some bitterness. good beer probably past its prime.

Jun 19, 2008 Draft - Max’s. Dark copper, creamy off white head. Soft pine and tropical fruit aromas lay on notes of sweet caramel biscuit. Moderate bitterness with light swirls of grapefruit zest and piney spruce balancing on a toasty malt backbone. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. A nice hop fix without a major bite. May 9, 2008 750 ml ceramic bottle. pours a deep orange, almost red with a small white head. some citrus and piney hops in the aroma. nice palate - light to medium body with a solid amount of hops and grapefruit on the front, while smooth and malty on the sides. Finishes with a good amount of sweet bitterness. Very drinkable and very nice... but Rogue definitely overprices their ceramic bottle line. At $15 / bottle, it doesn’t measure up... but it is worth drinking...

May 9, 2008 Growler from Bierkraft. Disclaimer: the keg came labeled Black Brutal, or something like that, which it’s clearly not. The guys at the store had it narrowed down to a couple of beers, this is the one I think it is/it seems to be. If anyone has any better info than I do, I’m glad to change the rating. Hazy orange beer with a big white head. Hoppy and sweet aroma characterized by flowers and grapefruit. Nicely balanced nose. Good hops up front with a big round finish and smooth bitterness. It could use some more carbonation. Nicely brewed.

Dec 3, 2007 Ceramic swing top bottle. Lots of citrus on the aroma. Not bright like an IPA, more like muddled or dried. Apricot, grapefruit and mango. Some sweeter caramel malt. Pours a relatively unattractive murky orangish brown with a rocky off-white head. Earthy hops, soap, tree bark, caramel and toffee on the tongue. Interesting. Medium bodied with a fairly bitter finish.

Nov 29, 2007 750 ml ceramic swing top bottle poured a clear copper with a large lasting amber head. Aromas of light oxidation, carmel, earthiness, pine and light grapefruit. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, eartthiness, light pine and grapefruit with a crisp lingering moderatly bitter finish.
