Dark opaque red on the eye, strong white head. Have the authors actually seen amber, ever? Smoky sweetness on the nose, Light hoppiness but overarching sweetness in flavour. S’allright - but maybe not worth acquiring on the other side of the globe.

Douberd (2172) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2014
Bottle 355ml at home, poured into a tulip glass, ABV 5.3% Clear body, amber in colour. Small and a bit thin off-white head,, with good retention though, leaving light lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma, some raisins, caramel, lightly hoppy. Taste has chestnut, caramel, hops giving a nice fruity touch, nice bitterness that gets more intense as time passes, with good duration. Medium thin body, a tad high on carbonation, very dry on the palate. Overall a more than decent beer, I liked it quite a bit.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. Pours out in a deep amber colour with steady head and medium body. Aroma of hops and caramel with some grass hints. Taste of hops, wheat, barley, light malt, nuts, caramel and vanilla. Quaffable and refreshing, enjoyed it a lot.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Wonderfully pleasing offering nuts, malt and caramel. Very easy to drink and really pleasing vienna-style aromas. Would have loved to drink a second one.
