2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
22oz bottle. Thin khaki head. Clear red slightly brown color. Good rows and dots of lace. More dry finish. A lot less sweet hazelnut flavor than in Rogue’s standard hazelnut brown. More of a light woody spiced rum aroma, but it’s watered down - this brew has a light body, and sort of a light flavor. Light cola, some fruity hops, balsamic vinegar. Carbonation is a little blunt. Light bitter taste, some spice, mostly tart. Caramel malts. Pretty lackluster and disappointing. Past its prime, maybe. Sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle, bought @ Vinens Verden, Odense.
Nice clear deep red with a big, frothy, beige head. Fizzes away rather fast. Aroma has fat caramel, nuts, oak, tannins. Highish carbonation, light mouthfeel and a bit watery. Flavour has tartish oak, light spicy, light rye, some mild nuttiness. Mild dryish tartness to the end. Not that succesful.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours an amber - brown colour with a huge, rocky beige head. Aroma of sweet hazelnuts, caramel, Brett, oak, balsamic vinegar, chocolate and a hint of rum. Similar flavours with a lovely dry, funky Brett character cutting through. Some lemony sourness and oak linger nicely with the hazelnuts. Heavily carbonated with a foamy mouth-feel. I’m loving this, it’s quite possibly my favourite Rogue to date! Just a little bitter right at the end. Really interesting.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Moriartys. Cloudy brown pour. Fizzy off-white head. Smells sweet and nutty. Taste is clean and juicy. Body is bubbly but thin. Light red fruit flavors. Lingonberries. Queen Anne cherries. Definitely taste the hazelnut/filbert flavor, though it does not seem to play well with the fruit juiciness. Some light cinnamon nutmeg spice is present but it also does not work (pepper would have been better.) Some nice elements but I can not recommend. Would have been a better brew without the gimmick.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650ml bomber pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that dissipates quickly leaving little lacing on the glass. Aroma is light caramel with some nuttiness and citrus finishing with some rum. Taste is light caramel malty sweetness with a nutty presence and a mild citrusy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with some mild carbonation. A pretty decent offering, but lacks a little in substance.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
An excellently flavored beer with lots of fruit & spice notes and a sour after taste that you forget in time for the next gulp.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[4432-20120526] 1pt6floz bottle. Mild fruity nut malt aroma has a strange rummy base. Hazy, red amber body with a medium-lasting creamy light yellow body. Light nutty apple-orange peel flavour has a lingering light boozy base. Medium body. Interesting to sample. (7/3+/7/3/14) 3.4

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle from Appellation Wines. Very hazy medium brown colour with a big yellow brown head. Sour grassy woody nutty malt & rum aroma & flavour. Sour aftertaste. This is not my sort of beer. My first big disappointment from Rogue.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured brown with reddish hints, and a small tan head. The aroma was licorice, nuts and caramel. The taste was a nice mix of nuts, caramel, and raisins with a light rum like sweetness. The palate/mouth feel was medium bodied. Overall a nice evenly balanced brown ale, not the best I’ve ever had, but not nearly the worst. I’d recommend this ale, it went down smooth.
