A nice deep brown pour with a nice off white head. Lots of lacing around my glass that sticks. Aroma was caramel and nutty. Flavor was spicy with the nuttiness in the background. A decent beer.

Nice looking muddy brown with a small beige head. The aroma is malty sweet with caramel and vanilla, some bread. The flavor is sweet with vanilla, prunes, a bit of rum, some caramel. The finish is long lasting.

Draft at Dexters. Thick brown-burgundy color. Thin, soapy head. Nutty and sweet, with some pungent herbal dark fruit tones. A touch of cinnamon perhaps..lots of oaky caramel. Mellow carbonation. OK, reminiscent of a Belgian Xmas Ale.

Brown pour with a mild hint of wood, a bigger nose of nuts and toffee.
Taste was a bit of bread, spice, nuts and very buttery. Not bad.

Poured from a 22 oz. Amber brown with a ¼ inch off-white head with light lacing. Aroma is of apple & spice. Taste is similar to the aroma with a hint of hazelnut in the finish. It would be a good fall beer. It’s yummy. The beer is well balanced since it was aged in the rum barrels, unlike other browns’ I’ve had. High drinkability. I will buy again! Overall excellent brew.

Bottle:   Deep caramel, dark and burnt, large frothy sand colored head, nice lacing.   Soft hazelnut on the nose, pale toasted maltiness, touch of honey.   Pale semi-sweet toasted malt flavor up front, slight hazelnut, seems a little thin.   More aroma than flavor.   Body and mouthfeel leave a bit to be desired.   Soft sweet nutiness on the backside.   Needs to be more meaty, otherwise its okay.

Nice coffee reddish brown color. Thin off. White head. Malty nose. A bitter sweet in flavor and malty for my tastes. Just ok.
