Finish is peppery, with a slight bitterness. The bitterness is not at all like what you get from hops, and must be the gin barrel aging. Thin to medium body, somewhat carbonated. Really excellent beer.

Flavor is shockingly unique, notes of pine and evergreen from gin aging with slightly sweet malts followed by mild hop bitterness on the finish... Body is fairly light, interesting beer...

Draft at County Grill Hampton VA: Overripe lemon, pecan and pine nose, the wood not the needles. Cloudy amber, thin head, but good adherence to the glass. Overripe lemon flavor with a burst juniper bows and berries at midpalate. finishes with a second and unexpected punch of distinct whole grapefruit. unlike the other John JOhn beers. Wonderful flavor and transitions. Exceptional and creative.

12 oz botle. slightly hazy old gold color. aromas of fresh sappy pine cones, ginger, and lemongrass with a crisp, round dry-yet-fruity medium to full body and a starfruit, birch bark, lemon, rosemary and thyme accented finish. Interesting beer.

Pours hazy gold with white head. Dunno about aroma bc I’m busy baking a Christmas apple pie and my house is filled with the aroma of baked goods. Tastes pretty interesting, slightly sour, piney, almost mintiness from juniper, bit of nice hops coming afterword, and a refreshing finish. Interesting enough to be worth trying, good enough to continue drinking.
