I tells ya, of all the beers the Yellowknife liquor store coulda imported they find the wackiest Rogues to bring up - chipotle and juniper? Selliouslee? Likez, I guess they gots all the IPAs and lagers covered with the boring stuff so here we go, get the crazy stuff from the Oregon people - why not? So, it poors with a nice lager-IPA body and good creamy head à la an English cream ale that’s in a hurry. Aroma is plenty of hops, but I’m struggling to smell the juniper. I’m a big gin kinda guy, so I’d be all over a Juniper scent if I’d found one. The flavour is some heavy malty notes with a bit of hops and, dare I say, a juniper finish. But the juniper is honeslt buried amongst the other stuff whereas I firmly believe it should be fluttering along the top. Drinkable but this is not the "exotic" brew I was expecting - it’s more of a tempered IPA that might lead to surprises for people with highly sensitive tastebuds.

22 oz. bottle. This was discounted for $3.99 so why not! Pours hazy pale amber orange with a decent soapy white head that settles to a sudsy film and faint spotty lacing. Aroma has muted dry hops of pine and strong floral juniper, I also get some caramel in this as well. Taste is piny with muted bitterness and faint gin qualities as well as some caramel malt . Palate is thin a little silky and the carbonation is, well, pretty much gone and finishes dry. I don’t mind this at all, and at $3.99 I could see myself picking this up again.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Tulip. Hazy orange pour with a fizzy foam. Nicely tart and floral. Clementine marmalade. Lemmongrass. Thyme. Honey dandelion tea. The juniper berries add a pleasant earthy spiciness. Like it the more I drink it. Decent body for something so light and refreshing.

12 oz bottle from Baruni’s in Baden, PA. A slight taste of juniper but not enough to distinguish it from any other IPA.

A - Pours a hazy golden brass with a 2 finger rocky white head that has superior retention. Big sheets of lacing. S - Soapy herbal hops, white grapes, green apple, treated wood, lavender, pale malt. T - Sweet oaky lavender, green herbal resin, vanilla, spicy floral with a yeasty peppery bite. A dry treated oak finish. M - Medium creamy body. Excellent head retention. This taste like slightly hoped pinot grigio aged in gin barrels. I like that it’s different but one is plenty. It definitely has that super dry gin feeling towards the end.
