Overall this is my favorite beer. Great dark golden almost brownish color. To me this is everything I want in a awesome solid beer. This is my go to beer. There isn’t a thing I don’t like about it. Aroma is that of pine and citrus. It is aged in alder gin barrels and ontop of the juniper pale ale it is a win for me. It is so smooth and goes down easy. Very flavorful but not a full on hop attack. You get the aromatic hop flavors without a full on hop assault on you pallet. What I love about this beer is that you take a drink, and it goes down smooth and you feel like your going to get a hop attack but it never shows up. That’s what makes this beer for me. Awesome gin/alder/juniper pale ale flavor without the hop/bitter punch in the face. All around, this is my idea of a awesome solid, beer SHOULD be like.

Clear gold with big, flotsam, white head / Delicate nose of sour malt and lemon / Light to medium body, dry but with good malts, and long, slightly bitter finish / Flavors of straw, sour malt, and chrysanthemum, with notes of juniper, spruce, and gin / Elegant, a terrific summer beer.

Draft at County Grill Hampton VA: Overripe lemon, pecan and pine nose, the wood not the needles. Cloudy amber, thin head, but good adherence to the glass. Overripe lemon flavor with a burst juniper bows and berries at midpalate. finishes with a second and unexpected punch of distinct whole grapefruit. unlike the other John JOhn beers. Wonderful flavor and transitions. Exceptional and creative.

damn. 650ml bottle pours golden/orange with a full sticky billowing head. Sweet piney aromas of citrus, grassy herbs, and spruce. Taste is amazing, starts off sweet but quickly gets very hoppy with a bitter herby gin flavor. Spruce and Gin flavors stand out. One of the best looking/tasting beers i haved ever had

Pours a orange copper color with a minimal whispy head. Taste is loaded with pale malts and a wonderful hint of subtle berry. This beer drinks so smooth with little bitterness to hold this beer back. Medium to high carbonation and other quiet notes of woods and pine. Yes this beer is terrific!

The aroma and flavor both remind me of wild yeast, like an infected ale. The color is cloudy golden with a nice creamy white head. The gin and juiniper berries are probably what I’m tasting, but they are so smooth and delicious.

NOt getting a ton in the aroma other than pine, but there is definitely a lot going on with the flavor of this beer. Pine flavors as well as fruitiness combat with a surprisingly dry body. Pretty good.

On tap at mahars. Pours a very nice beer compared to regular juniper. Taste is very piney, really good stuff

Totally unique taste, which I enjoyed. Sour lemon and gin aroma and taste. Slightly cloudy yellow color, and modest head. $9.39/22 oz. bomber is overly expensive compared to other excellent ales sold in this market.

Bottle
Pours a dense cheddar orange with a nice and fluffy off-white head. Aroma is biting oak, light attic must, and zesty lemon dust. Gin? Spruce? Flavor is attic lemon must aged in stale oak barrels. Gin? Spruce? Average mouthfeel. Pretty good, but where’s the gin and spruce?
