2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma has a lot of malt, and some hops, cloudy brown, tiny cream head. Flavour is of strong malt, has a rough edge with the alcohol presence. A fair beer, but doesn’t suit the style.

More like a winter strong ale than an IPA in my opinion. Has a rusty brown and copper color, strong alcohol nose with the usual PacMan yeast smell... also has that oxidized "aged" smell and flavor, though not that extreme, that’s common in old ales and big barley wines like 5+ year old Old Crustacean bottles. Roasted caramel candy and butterscotch flavor, some bread crust, peanuts, cashews, etc. Very different than other Rogue’s, woody, nutty, hoppy, old and just plain strange in some respects. Still a drinkable beer.

Pour is hazy brown with a thin tan head...aroma was much more along the lines of an English strong with prunes, toffee, lots of chocolate...taste was sweet chocolate with a strange yeasty finish...interesting...

2001. Poured a hazy amber. Aroma malty with a nice floral hop nose. There was a slight aroma of cheese detected. Malty caramel flavor with a little spice, pleasant hop bitterness, and even a little alcohol at the end.

Bottle. Cloudy amber color with big dry hop aroma. Nice bitter hoppy taste. It’s right up there with some of the best IPA’s that I’ve had and I think I’ve had quite a few.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Lucky Baldwins, Pasadena. Ruby hued beer, with a persistent thin topping of beige scum. Firm, bitter flavour - some fruit (blackcurrant, apple) and a shortish finish. Soft in the mouth, but quietly insistent, sharp even. A nice beer and pretty drinkable; the abv wasn’t listed so I plumped for small glass!

A hazy amber beer that has a large orange head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with notes of chocolate and oranges. The flavor is very hoppy on a sweet malty background and a rather bitter end. A lovely beer.

It is not every day you find a rare American brew like this in Belgium... especialy not for 1€ only. Dark brownish amber coloured. Aroma of old hops. Dark fruits in the flavour gives a sweetness which is in good balance with the hoppy bitterness. An interesting and good brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Foamy off-white head on a hazy amber body. Sweet and fruity aroma with oranges, raisins, apricot, nut and toffee - very nice! Flavor is somewhat harsh and bitter with notes of chocolate and caramel. Very cake-like but with a little unpleasant mouldyness. Maybe it was a little over the top??

This one comes on strong, but it doesn't stay with you. It is a dark amber color. It has a hoppy nose and flavor, but the flavor does not linger.
