Spicy and floral hop aroma hits first. I’m guessing the spiciness is actually from the juniper. Big sweet toffee malt follows. Well balanced, if perhaps a bit too heavy on the malt.
Flavour is first of all some sweet bready malt, followed by a dry spicy note from the juniper. Good hoppy bitterness makes for a long-lasting finish. Great complexity for what is often a simple style.
Creamy mouthfeel, but more carbonation than necessary.
Quite impressed with my first Rogue. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Fruity fresh hops aroma with some yeast and something that must be juniper. Hazy, medium orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Basic pale ale flavour with yeast juniper hints. Light-medium body. Fair.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Slightly hazy orange beer with big white head that quickly dissipates. Orange and lemon nose, also floral and berry; sweet. Flavor is sweet upfront, fading to a brief citrus, and a quick hop bite that lingers in the aftertaste. Dry finish. A fuller body than the first time I tasted it improves the experience. I’ll also give it an extra bonus point for being what I call "highly drinkable".

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 20, 2009 Interesting Aroma scores in the previous ratings. I have to side with the folks scoring 6 and under. I do not get any berry flavour initially or in the mid palate but it bursts in the after taste. I would like it to be a bit dryer and a tad more alcoholic. Its nice. rabidbarfly (62), London, Surrey, England
