I have no idea what juniper berries taste like, but nothing comes across as being berry-like to me. So I spent a few minutes researching the juniper berry, and I guess it’s adding to the unique bitterness I’m getting. After swallowing, the long, bitter aftertaste takes on a piney character. Pale malts are lightly sweet and mildly bready. Medium-bodied, typical amount of carbonation. Medium-golden in color, a bit hazy, capped by a quarter inch of whitish head on the pour, but that settles to a wide ring after awhile. Honestly, I never really cared for this beer when it was Yellow Snow and I don’t find the beer to be any more enjoyable after the repackaging.

Pine, herbal, light bready malts to start. Perfumed throughout. Bitter finish. Juicy smack. Drinkability: Light and interesting... a good binger, and goes well with my chicken nachos. Rebuy: Yes. #264 on 04022010, DG. TLNash886 (151), Idaho, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 30, 2010 Bomber pours amber with little retaining off white head into a tumbler. Aroma of pale hops, vaguely detectable juniper, floral with a touch of honey. Very similar nose: quite a delicate flavor with light hops, quite floral and nectary, bready malts, herbal and quite tea-like, slightly bitter with a vague pine-juniper in the finish; dry. Light bodied with a medium carbonation level and a slick mouthfeel. Quite drinkable and sessionable. Not bad, nothing special. philbertk (445), Seattle, Washington, USA
