3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A: A hazy golden color with a fluffy white foam.
S: Very subtle citrus and pine, the Juniper is very muted, not at all what I was expecting.
T: A bit of pine on the front and then pretty bland after that. Fades into some malt flavor and not much else. I was expecting to really taste the juniper, but was disappointed.
M: Crisp and dry, good carbonation.
D: As a gin drinker, I was hoping to experience a lot of the juniper herbalness, but it was absent. The beer still tasted okay, but I don’t think it highlighted the juniper at all. Could have just been any pale ale.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Floral, fruit, evergreen aroma. Brassy gold color with a white head that rapidly departed. Thin to medium bodied. Very moderate carbonation. Evergreen and malt, with definite bitter. Not so bitter as hoped. Nice. Definitely drinkable. Not so juniper as gin. But it is noticeable, and it certainly shows good intentions. Without more juniper it is interesting, but not outstanding. Hint. Hint.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Re-rate Dec. 2002: Slightly hazy yellow, with eggshell white head. Aroma is floral and citrus hoppy. Flavor is bold hoppy, sweet as well as bitter. Perhaps there’s also a hint of juniper in the finish, as the label suggests. Definitely a better tasting beer than the last time I tried it.
