This is amazing. It has a golden, amber color. With a fruity and bitter smell. The taste is amazing! Fruity and bitter but not too bitter! Great!

Hazy orange color with nice head. Aroma is fruity, piney and a bit spicy, the berries are noticeable. Taste is resinous and fruity, sticky, spicy. Small bubbles in the carbonation. Interesting, but also reserved in its berriness, so it’s also very drinkable.

Bottle almost past its best before date. APA spiced with juniper berries, a ’fruit’ often used in old ’jenever’ here in the Low Countries, among other things, so this should smell familiar to some extent... Medium thick, snow white, moussy head with relatively good retention, colour a kind of egg yolk yellow, lightly orangey golden, with slight haze and ’strings’ of small bubbles here and there. Sweetish and restrainedly spicy aroma in which a spicy, resinous odour of juniper berries is indeed noticeable, among hints of honey, cake, melting butter, pine needles, artichoke, peanuts, canned apricot, toasted bread, freshly cut shallot, raw shellfish, minerals, unusual but not necessarily off-putting. Fruity onset, restrained and not becoming outspokenly sweet, apple peel, gooseberry, very minerally (like a soda rich in minerals), medium carbonation, strangely salty touch working its way through the whole palate; light body, smooth, with a light and subtle nutty maltiness underlying; finish is resinous and dry, pine needle-like, an effect I assume is established by the juniper berries (which, after all, are not real berries but small, modified pine cones) blending with the floral and very herbal hops. The salty touch, very subtle as in soda water, persists till the very end, accompanied by the lingering, long, sticky hop bitterness and resinous spiciness of the juniper berries. Interesting spiced beer, quenching and a bit out of the ordinary, yet very quaffable. Wonder what this tastes like fresh and from tap, and reading the other reviews here, I assume this older bottle has already lost a lot of its fruitiness.

12oz bottle from Mitsuya’s in Asagaya. Poured into a snifter. Hazy orange color with medium soapy head. Lacing all the way down. Yeast, peach cobbler, faint berry aromas are present. Taste is very malty with the yeast coming through nicely with a crisp, dry finish from the berries presumably. Has a slightly funky almost Belgian thing going on as well. Creamy mouthfeel...almost like cream soda. Solid pale ale from Rogue.

Fľaša. Zlatá farba, biela pena. Vôňa ovocná, jemne karamelová a zľahká chmelová. Chuť zo začiatku jemne sladká, sladová, neskôr prichádzajú ovocné tóny, jemne citrusové. Dochuť karamelová a horká. Stredné telo, vyššia nasýtenosť. Veľmi osviežujúce a piteľné.

Schöne trübe, goldene Farbe. In der Nase fruchtig beerig, im Geschmack sehr herb, im Abgang leicht süß, dann bitter. Leider nicht mehr ganz so fruchtig. Da müssen deutlich mehr von den Beeren rein.

(Rogue Juniper Pale Ale) Bottle, 355 ml, served into a tulip, ABV 5.3% Cloudy orange colour on the body, small and somewhat thin white head, with good retention though, leaving light lacing behind. Sweet aroma, marmalade, the juniper berries faint. Taste is also very sweet, quite malty and again marmalade, with the juniper berries being present on the finish, giving it a harsh bitterness that at least helps to reduce the overall sweetness. Medium thin body, carbonation on the high side. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either.

Slightly fruity aroma. The taste is slightly fruity, watery and floral. Good bitterness in the aftertaste that fills the upper part of the mouth for a long while. Good beer but slightly bitter. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Hazy golden beer with a light fruity nose. Taste is really dry from the juniper. Very savoury.

Boring but pleasant. Like a standard pale ale but with more malt and spiced fruit; slightly floral and nutty.

Bottle from Soho Wine at Jay's. Aroma is sort of bland ale with some bitterness. Taste is the same - slightly herbaceous bitterness. Not bad but not interesting or that good.
