pootzboy (1037), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Mar 8, 2009 Hazed golden-orange lager withg a decent cap that lasts and laces.
Aromas of sweet doughy malts, hints of straw a light mustiness. Nice subtle pleasing aroma.
Great malt spine...chewy bready malts in the front with herbal-grassy hop offset, light lemony effect in the clean finish.
Aroma is quite faint, there are touches of hops, and some minimal malts with a little bit of apple. Flavor is a touch malty, with a little bit of flowery hops, and again a apple like finish. Its not a bad lager, but i would have liked it to be a little maltier. garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 6, 2009 Appearance: Golden/straw yellow with an initially large but quickly diminishing white head. Aroma: Malt, grass, slight summer fruit. It has ’that’ particular hop aroma I dislike. Flavour: Malty, quite grassy again with sweetness and floral notes, slightly bitter dry finish. Definitely my least favourite so far of the Rogue products. I love the bottle however :-) Also, like JesseM says below - fair play to Rogue for continuing to put up with the Ontario/LCBO cr@p. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Mar 6, 2009 650 mL. Cloudy orange-copper with a small but persistent foamy, white head. Aroma is malty, nutty, some bread, some straw, and a little citrus. Flavour is quite light, with some sweetish malt, grass, and hops. The hops add more flavour than bitterness, until the finish, where both are present. Body is medium-light. Fairly heavy carbonation. Don’t really get the Irish part, but it’s a nice lager. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Mar 4, 2009 650 ml bomber from the LCBO- Sparkling gold with a generous white fizzy cap, leaving good lace. Nose of floral hops, honey, buckwheat, bread crust, a bit of tin. Tastes of sweet saaz like hops, honey, rose petal, spices, biscuit and some lemon. Quite bitter and refreshing overall. Astringent finish. Not really a "premium lager" by any means. Seems very much like a pils to me. A good session brew. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Mar 2, 2009 22. Wow, this was disappointing even after going into it with no expectations of any kind. Pours a crystal clear medium gold, no head, very little lace, and no rising carb. Dry, nutty, grassy, slightly crackery nose. Creamy, softly carbed medium body. Wet grass, wet leaves, biscuit and nuts on the mid-palate. Nice and dry. Not very pleasant other than that.
