bma4573 (136), Mechanicsville, Maryland, USA Mar 3, 2008 Poured a golden color with a thick head and hints of carbonation. Very average tasting, good but not great. jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 3, 2008 A tasting at Three Callers Milwaukee. A good, not great Irish Lager. Nothing stands out yet nothing offended either. Worth a try. CheersMate1 (770), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 2, 2008 Transparent beer that looks like a typical lager. It has a nice and bubbly appearance. The gold color is what you would find standard in a lager. I can only give this the score of an average appearance. Lagers just don’t make a statement in regards to the way they look. The beer has the pils and lager hop and malt smell. It has a little less pungent smell than the cheap corporate American lagers. The ingredients smell more crisp, but I would say that this beer exceeds that level by much. Very stale taste. The hops taste like garbage. I get the same satisfaction out of a Coors. I could have purchased a 6 pack of pints of Coors for the price of the 22 ounce bottle. The beer has virtually no malt presence. The beer is also very thin, as you would expect from a lager. The fact that this is coming from Rogue, I expect a suprerior product, but I am tasting something completely inferior. Just because this is Rogue does not mean that it deserves a higher score. I find this to be on the level on Corporate American lagers. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 2, 2008 A so so premium lager. Aroma of macro swill. Pour was a clear gold with a nice 2 finger white head. Taste was like a Budweiser with a little more sweet light malt flavor and less carbonation. Good for the style, but I didn’t enjoy it much. Hangover (764), Atlanta, USA Feb 28, 2008 Golden pour, thin filmy head and some carbonation streamers from the bottom. Nose is of of grains, honey and some yeast. Taste is has a bit of funk on the front end but leads to a bit of earthy graininess. Quick finish. Meh. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 23, 2008 Updated: Jan 27, 2009650 ml. Topaz and clear with a creamy, four-finger head that settles into a lasting cap. Slight grain and spicy honey aroma. Flavor is similar, plus some tart apple and drying spicy grassy herb on the end. Even some faint toasted nut and cocoa in the aftertaste. Light medium body is soft and finishes slightly dry and tingly. Nice ale-like flavors for a pale lager. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA Feb 19, 2008 yellow/gold pour with 3ft. of head(woops). apples and a bit-o honey to the nose. Not much flavor to this one. Tastes like a carbonated green tea to me. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Feb 18, 2008 22 ounce bottle in pint glass. Hazy yellow with lasting ring. Spring water, honey and granny smith apple aroma. Exceedingly clean tasting, honey sweetness, green apple sweetness, mild dry finish. Light body, medium carbo. Hits the spot! Not feeling well today, run down, exhausted, think I’m getting the flu (?), needed a less-strong beer. Needed something really clean. I found it. This is just perfect for an American, Irish-stale (very little hop) pale lager. No corn. Just clean.
