Maltybones (60), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 2, 2009 Golden yellow with a thick white head and massive carbonation. Very grassy aroma, with hints off sweet apple and butterscotch. Light grainy taste, a little breadiness, caramel and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light, crisp and slightly metallic, good for style. Nice, but nothing to blow your mind. douglas88 (1556), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 1, 2009 Bomber at the Bayou. Pours a clear golden color with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet honey and malts. The flavor was smooth and easygoing; lots of sweet malts, light spices and overall a clean and crisp flavor. Not bad at all. bozoNZ (481), Christchurch, New Zealand Jul 30, 2009 Light yellow, good head. A little cidery feel to it and if the description didn’t suggest it you’d call it a fault. Light peppery flowery hop notes and waftf of lemongrass. Nice emough but I can understand those not wanting to pay a big price compared with other beers from the same stable. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Jul 25, 2009 Sampled on draft at the Music City Brewers Festival. Pours a clear light yrellow with good solid white head. This is like the sweet, corny, vanilla, version of bud. Very sweet. doubelknv3 (559), Illinois, USA Jul 19, 2009 Grain, sweet malt, and lemon aroma. Clear golden with froth white head...nice lacing. Flavour matches aroma. Full-bodied, balanced, and creamy. Nice session lager. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jul 15, 2009 Once again, in Alberta, Rogue 650ml bottles are highly overpriced.
Poured out a huge lumpy white crown that takes its time to vanish while leaving some random lacing. The beer is a crystal clear light yellow gold. The smell is nothing too special: grains, apples - normally those two equal shit but not in this case, weakly floral, faint fake pineapple. The taste is nothing special either - non-offensive grainy tastes rule followed by a well placed and well balanced hoppy bitterness. Some pear and slight spice asa well. Smooth and carbonated to my liking, solid middle and finishes just like a Euro Pil. Average lager. Spending 9$ on this is nuts. A forgettable product with no real flaws. shotgunn (32), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 15, 2009 WOW!!! Rogue is making Budweiser now??? Nothing as to what I was expecting. That said, I would not buy this beer again and I will tell anybody and everybody who asks that they should save their money and buy any of the mass produced cheaper beers, because that is what is in this bottle. It should not be called Kells Irish Style Lager, it should be called Rogue’s Attempt at Mass Produced American Lager. As for that it is a decent beer that has "drinkability", but that style beer should not come from what I’ve always considered one of the better American craft breweries. A big disappointment. Russo (595), Campinas, Brazil Jul 14, 2009 Nice gold yellow color with a noce white head, aroma is malty and hoppy, some sweetness, I couldn’t define it. Flavor is bitter and malty, some sweetness too, like fruit or something like that. Mouthfeel is kind of dry or crispy..
