Caramel golden color beneath a small white head that quickly fades to a trace. Aroma is more assertive than I expected, full of mixed fruits, mossy earth, bread yeast, pizza dough, and yellow bell pepper. It’s pretty sweet, mellow, hints of caramel, grass, and applesauce. Finishes with a tight but mild bitter bite and lingering earthy note. Lovely body sports fine carbonation and an organic feel. Nice surprise! Palidor19 (1798), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2006 Kells produced a strong green apple aroma upon opening the bottle, followed by light pale malt and pilsner yeast notes. It produced light carbonation with little head retention. Kells has a intriguing malt flavor; Rogue has integrated the wheat and acidified barley beautifully. The acid dominates the palate, then the pale malt, then a slight hoppiness. Very dry finish; Rogue’s yeast and long fermentation process is very efficient. Not quite enough malt and hop body to typify a pilsner, but a very enjoyable lager just the same, as long as you don’t mind its "outside the box" characteristics. TheBeerOrg (1596), Kentucky, USA

Aroma of light honey malt, light toasted malt and bready. Taste is crisp maltiness, doughy, malty Pils yeastiness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a slight sweetness and lively carbonation. Good lager, but not worth $5.50 for 22oz. DerWeg (783), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Pours a light clear gold with a wisp of head. Medium-light body. Aroma is clean and fresh, with malty-bready grains and herbal hops. Flavour is very moderate hop bitterness, a touch of honeyed pale malt, finishing on a long enjoyable classic lager finish that balances crisp and sweet with no excess dry feeling or off flavors. As far as a decent easy-drinking lager goes, this stuff is the cat’s meow. demitriustown (709), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA

Aroma is nice hop texture and a subtle malt backing, gingerbread, and quite spicy aroma. Nice malt textures come through most noticeable on the taste. It also includes the spicy gingerbread taste, apples, a nice medium sweetness and a hop backing. Palate is medium bodied, a rather creamy texture, nicely carbonated, and quite a long bitter finish. This stuff is really good. the subtle nuances of this beer are unexplainable. Probably on of the best premium lager I’ve had. Highly Recommended! Ported (67), Ontario, Canada

Slightly sweet caramel and apple nose, with a similar flavour but with a nice mild bitter malt/hop aftertaste. One of the better lagers. beermouth (435), Langeskov, Denmark
