Brewed in honor of Bob Brenlin, long time friend of John Maier and Rogue’s first draft account in Seattle, where dry-hopped Saint Rogue Red became a cult classic amongst Pacific NW hop-heads! Latona 20th achieves amazing complexity by using just two ingredients. The malt, Special Aromatic, is from France and is produced for a few Belgian brewers. The hops are a new variety, Mt Rainier which grown in Oregon. This ale is highly aromatic from the eathly notes of the malt and the citrusy quality of the hops. OG = 15.6 degrees Plato, FG = 3.9 degrees Plato, IBU approx 65.

Tap @ Papago. Had a decent floral aroma. Orange body with white head. Medium bodied citrus flavor alond with some toast on the finish. That finish left a pale aftertaste on the palate. Otherwise a smooth easy drinkable brew.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Part of the John’s Locker series. Hazy orange-brown body, thin cream head. Aroma and body dominated by earthy, citrusy hops and modest toasted malts. Bitter aftertaste. Alcohol was restrained. Simple but not distinctive in any way, pretty much what I expected.

On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. Nice deep amber pour with a lively feel to it, this brew goes downhill from the beginning. With my first sips, I thought that this was going to be a pleasant - if unremarkable - aggressive, Centennial-based beer. But it’s pretty rough, with some rye notes that don’t really serve to impart any character. As it warms, the hop character subsides and with it anything interesting about this. Average.

Clear amber body with medium sized, off white head, lasting. The aroma is very light, caramel, sweet and light citrus. The flavor is citrus, floral and lightly sweet caramel. Medium body with soft carbonation and a slightly astringent (malty) finish.

Draft at Drafting Roon Exton. Dark straw pour with off-white head. Aroma of hops, ryeish malt. The taste has a definite rye-like element, with some hops, and some floral notes at the finish. Not terribly complex.

On tap. Poured a medium amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, and some floralness. Tastes of citrus, caramel, toasted malts and light pine. Some lacing left on the glass.
