Undated notes: Pours gold with a nice pillowy head. Smells of crisp, dry pilsner malt, some perfume, wildflowers, spicy. Tastes peppery and dry with a nice full bodied mouthfeel.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with orange highlights and a nice tan head. Aroma of pure hops - some grapefruit and mostly piney hops are noticeable. Medium-bodied; Full of great hop flavour - all with a nice malt backbone - I can’t believe I’m actually liking this Rogue beer! Aftertaste is all bittering, more hop flavour than anything else, but it comes across very nicely. Overall, a damn good Rogue beer, probably the first I’ve had - after 20 or so...at least one has to be good! I sampled this beer on draught at RFD in Washington D.C. on 15 December 2006.

Appearance: Hazy, dull, burnished gold body with a smallish, white head. Smell: Slightly grainy pils aroma completely dominated by a floral, citric hop scent. Hmm. I’m not so sure I like where this is headed. Taste: Grainy pilsner maltiness, nearly absent of any sweetness. Floral, caustically citric pith taste. The hop bitterness goes beyond prominent, beyond aggressive even, to really make for a rather harsh drink. The finish is grainy and displeasingly bitter. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: Excruciating and unpleasant. I dumped the remaining few ounces on the restaurant’s wall and within seconds a ChainGangGuy-sized hole had been eaten through both the dry wall and exterior bricks. This made for a quick getaway, allowing me to quickly flee the premises without paying.

On tap at 1702 during Rogue night - Pours a hazy light golden color with a faint white head. No lacing. Aroma and flavor is grain and herbal hops with hints of citrus. Typical American brewed Pils. Light to Medium body. Not bad.

On tap at Barleys in Knoxville. Poured a clear gold color with a huge bubbly white head. Aroma is grassy with some bread and yeast. Flavor reflects the aroma. The bitterness stayed on the palate for quite a while. Good beer.

Bubbly golden beer with a fluffy head. Huge grassy hop aroma. Flavor is biscuity, bready, and very grassy. The bitterness is pretty big for a pils as there is a strong lingering grassy bitterness. Actually pretty damn bitter, and thats how I like it.

Had this on tap at the Summits near Stone Mountain. I asked the bar maid what type of beer is was since I had not heard about this. She said it was a really hoppy IPA. Coolness, I said. I’ll take one. Not really all that hoppy and, of course, not an IPA. Anyway, the appearance was OK - not much of a head. Aroma was slightly hoppy, but none of the citrus aroma. There was a decent amount of banana though. The mouthfeel was quite good. All in all a decent pilsner.

Clear golden with dense white head. Faint hop aroma and a dry with pine hop essence takes the lead over the malt profile. Not a top choice from one of the best breweries in the country.
