Sampler at an Oktoberfest tasting at Binny’s in Glen Ellyn, IL., and poured from a bomber with an orange/gold hue, creamy and bubbly, off white head foam, and ribbons and spots of lacing. The nose presented some grain and a little toastiness. Decent malt content in the flavor, but also picked up a bit of corn and light lactic hints, while finishing fairly dry. Not a big fan at this point, but will try again in the future

I may have to come back to this one. Initial notes...bouquet is tight. closed. I am not getting much. Flavour wise it gets a little more interesting. Starts almost like an Ale and very briefly it has that caramel and I thought it would of been a bit fruity. However it finished crisp and vegetal.

22 oz Bottle -- Burnt orange liquid with a thin white head. Aromas of apples, pears, roasted malt, and yeast. Mildly sweet throughout with a little hop bitterness. Not very malty and feels thin but is very enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber pours gold with off white head. The aroma is sweet, grainy and develops spicy hops, earthy hops and a dash of lemon. The taste is pretty rich and sweet with sweet malts, a sweet sense of honey and then a healthy lagery yeastiness. Slightly above the sweetness rides a modest layer of spicy and earthy hops. It has a pleasing near creamy mouthfeel.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bottle. Pours gold with a nice white head. Clean, smooth body. A bit of citrus and fruit on the taste. Just not really my style.
As it warms the character definitely opens up- sweet malts and caramel that is distinctly rich against the dry finish. Definitely don’t drink this (too) cold.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours nice golden with a hearty white head that disappears quickly, lively carbonation. In the smell there is a hint of breaded caramel, maybe a little citrusy? Taste is mostly sweet with a hint of bitterness that leaves the mouth quickly. Overall an 8.

9/21/10. On tap. Reddish pour. Sweet and grainy aroma with a caramelly and grainy flavor that lingers dry and a bit soapy/off. Meh

Beautiful white foamy head accompanied by a dark gold color. Fruity aroma. Complex woody flavor and strong palate. I would not recommend Rogue Maierfest Lager.
