3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass; no bottle dating, but this is likely to be over a year old. Pours hazy golden orange color with a small 1 finger foamy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel, apple, pear, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, toffee, herbal, and light earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and decent strength; very pleasant. Taste of caramel, toast, pear, biscuit, apple, toffee, nuttiness, floral, herbal, and light earthy spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, light fruit, nuttiness, biscuit, toffee, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance of flavors with good robustness; zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy and very smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Oktoberfest lager. Nice robustness with a good balance of toasty and nutty flavors with light fruitiness(which I prefer in the style); very smooth and fairly crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Nice dark color for a lager! Lots of malt in the taste, medium bodied. Smells like malt and bread.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rated on 5-30-2010 (Bottle) This beer pours a medium sized very fizzy off-white head that mostly diminishes, hazy golden body, fast rising carbonation, and virtually no lacing. The aroma is malty. The taste has a rich malt flavor and a dry finish. This beer is medium bodied. Malt dominates this beer from start to finish. There is not much character to this beer and is rather bland and boring to drink and rate. This is a beer that I am likely not to drink again.

Bottle. Nice, meaty lager. Ruddy orange-amber, slightly hazy. Firm but thin head. Definitely full of clean, earthy malt, this also has a nice creamy finish and a rich, earthy, overall feel. (#5335, 11/17/2013)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber-deep gold color as opposed to amber with a medium, white head. Bready aroma with some soft malt. The flavor was sweet malts at the start with bread on the finish. Medium body and light sweet finish. Produce place.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark orange, wheat color. It has a very distinct light orange malty aroma with a dry hay, yeasty flavor to finish the drink. Not a lager/oktoberfest of choice for me.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Faint yeast and biscuit aroma. Pale amber gold with a decent foam. Slight hop presence upfront falling into a distinct caramel sugary malt in the back. Some oat and wheat undertones on the finish. I’d give this a B- rating.
