22oz bottle. John on the label with ROGUE fist pump. Beuatiful golden color. White head. Aroma of bread. Sweet toasted cereal. Flavor is perfect Oktoberfest/Märzen. Medium dryness, fruity flavor, lots of bread, wood, a touch of musty grains. I love Munich Malts, one of my favorite grains. Finishes with a touch of salt air flavor. Very clean flavor and very well balanced. I Love ROGUE!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Pours a nice hazy golden amber color with a one finger white head that dissipates fast leaving decent lacing. Smell has a sweet, malty, breadiness, and just a hint of hops. Taste has tons of malts that are decently sweet but not overwhelming. In the finish you get just a bit of hop bitterness that makes it a nicely balanced beer. Medium body with mild carbonation. Has a nice, smooth/creamy texture.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma: sugary and cereal, like baking dough, very enticing and prominent; Appearance: pours slightly hazy with thinner white head but clears after sitting, pleasing amber color; Taste: very good initial impression, quite malty but with less sugary taste than you’d figure based on the smell, a little roasty but not too much, I tried enjoying this through a standard meal, and something unfortunate was observed, by the time the meal was over, about 25min, the carbonation has almost entirely dissipated out of the brew, leaving it much more watery tasting and much less appealing, still very drinkable but definately less enjoyable after the carbonation was gone; Palate: the hops is more noticable in the aftertaste and on the palate than when actively drinking, interestingly enough, palate is also confronted with a slightly sour finish, which detracts from the sweetness that you’d hope to enjoy in a malty beer such as this; Overall: pretty good so long as you don’t nurse it, I’ll definately go back to this one again to see if my 2nd time around leaves a different impression

$5.49 @ Gary’s beverage, Portsmouth, NH. No born on date or ABV printed anywhere on label. Nice gold color with soft carbonation in a lager glass. Minimal head or lace. Aroma of grass and sweet malt. Taste has malts that are sweet but not overwhelming. In the finish you get a German/ Euro hop bitterness that makes it a nicely balanced. Medium body. Has a nice, smooth/creamy mouthfeel with a short crisp finish. This was want I was thirsting for and it met my expectations. Nice Fest brew.

clear dark gold with a small, quickly dissipating, white head. moderately sweet, clean, malty aroma. biscuity malts, hint of nuts, butter. light body. not much to rave about here, but solid to say the least.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Pizza Port bottle shop: Created a firm fluffy layer of foam while the liquid was a golden honey hue. In the nose, moderate amount of grained malts and grassy hops but very subdued and going completely unnoticed. The flavor is balanced considerably well with a mild presence of malts and hops, but somehow in my own opinion, I don’t see this beer following true in flavor to the Marzen/Oktoberfest style I know and love. I am happy that this beer somehow made it to San Diego county since Rogue doesn’t distribute anymore like they used too.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Dark golden amber. Decent head and a lasting solid white skiff. Aroma has a nice malt but a surprising strong spice character; grainy but also an earthy cinamon/nutmeg presence. Flavour starts out with that same spiced grain note which carries through on a good palate. If you inhale with your mouth before you drink you get an essence of spice. Traces of vegetable and strong malt. Kind of intriguing with the spice edge to this style. The 4.2% ABV is interesting although the Alberta-added sticker says 5.6%.
