Black in color and poured a creamy full brown head that reduced in size, but maintained a good presence. The lace ringed the glass. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The taste is sweet, roasted, and chocolate with a real dry hop finish. The mouth feel was smooth and creamy with some carbonation. Not very complex, but offered a good balance of sweetness and a hop finish.

Almost black with a tan head. Not much aroma, with coffee and malt dominating. Very nice, with the chocolate understated and pleasantly bitter. The palate was very smooth and velvet, with a nice finish.

A very good porter, I’d rank this up with Anchor and Stegmaier Porters as some of the best that I’ve had to date. Does Rogue make a bad beer?

Deep chocolate roasted malt aroma. Chalky. Opaque with small tan head. Not much lace. After attending the Great Taste of the Midwest and sampling some really big flavorful beers, I have come to the conclusion that even notworthy brewers like Rogue dumb down some of their beers for a wider audience, when they could be so much more. Case in point with the Mocha Porter. It is a savory brew, but I expected more flavor from Rogue and really didn’t enjoy it much at all.

Bottle in Amarillo, Smooth porter a little light on the expected chocolate tones you would expect. Fairly mellow mouthfeel maybe thinner than I would like in a porter. Nice dark brown appearance with long lasting tan head.

Chocoff. Has a bit of brown ale nutty notes and some creamy cocoa. The body is black with a massive three finger thick mocha head that fades slowly. sweet coffee/cocoa/chcolate/roasted malt fore. Maybe the one Rogue beer that isn’t hopped beyond all pleasure. Has some creamp frappachino like notes and ends sweet and roasty.

From a bottle at yeoman’s Road Pub in Tampa. Fantastic. Hoppy and malty. Sweet and bitter. Has a little bit of everything while still being very drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep dark brown color, opague. Brown frothy head. A slight mocha coffee aroma with a big nose of hoppiness. A little thin, but with loads of flavor. Black currant, roasted malt, espresso coffee and a little bitter chocolate. Long toasty bitter hops and chocolate finish. A nice beer that reminds me of the "Old Cove Porter" we make on our stove top.

Smells of roated malt, and a sour hops aroma too. Very dark pour, I’m a big fan, with a thin off white head. Nice roasted malt flavor(s), sweet, with a bitter finish. Heavy, and tasting pretty nice on this cool night.
