Beautiful dark colour. Didn’t get much of a head, but the toasty aroma made up for that. Flavour is similar to the Shakespeare Stout, but with more coffee notes. Only complaint I had was that it was served to us too cold, but after letting it warm up for a while, it was a great brew.

This is my first rogue product and I was fairly impressed... a very stoutish porter really, with full malt flavor, roasted coffee, dark chocolate... not as dry as most porters tend to be, but not bad at all

A deep dark appearance, almost stout-like, roasted like a campfire marsmellow. Goes well with my favorite baked snack cracker: Goldfish

Looks good, dark with a nice tan head. Unfortunately, the flavor wasn’t as impressive. Very thin and lacking of any aroma or mocha flavor. Fortunately the hops did make a presense.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer rocks.
The aroma is slightly malted and heavily toasted. Smells like a nice caramel mocha latte. The yeast and alcohol break through the aroma as well. This pitch black beer has a large, frothy, light-brown head. Excellent lacing. The head outlasts most marriages. The initial taste is of a moderately sweet mocha latte. Full, fizzy mouthfeel. The long finish is both lightly malty/sweet and bitter. Just a touch sour in the finish as well. Crisp and dry. An excellent, hearty beer.

Dark rusty brown hue. Floral coffee/chocolate aromas. Dark beige/tan head, with some nice lacings. Creamy, very creamy. Chocolate and coffee melt over medium to heavy bodied palate. Excellant hop balance in this velvety smooth porter. A very lovely example of a porter. A must try!!!!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
A bit sour smell; nice rich malts with dark, bitter sweet chocolate and a hint of coffee. Dark black with brownish head. Medium heavy carb and medium oily body. Sour, bitter hops. A little malt sweetness. Bitter finish and after. Bitter coffee/choc and a bit smoky. Was a little disappointed in this beer. Perhaps it was an older bottle.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Unlike some of the others who have rated this beer, the mocha-ness came though loud and clear to me. The aroma wasn’t terrific but the roasted malts did come through. The body was perhaps a bit too thin, but at the same time, so incredibly smooth. I am a bit undecided if a smooth porter equals a better porter and this beer goes a long way to prove that. But the rich, bittersweet, mocha chocoaltey finish is absolutely divine. I wish everyone else who didn’t taste the mocha when they tried it could have tasted what I did, because their opinions would change. The whole time I was drinking this I imagined a bowl of hazelnut ice cream in front of me and salivated about how good the two would taste together. Sigh...I am thinking Oregon is a good place to be right now.....

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This tasted more like a nut brown ale than a mocha porter. It seemed too thin to be a porter and I couldn’t taste the mocha. It had the bitterness of a nut brown except that it was hoppier. I was disappointed with this brew.
