Smells of roated malt, and a sour hops aroma too. Very dark pour, I’m a big fan, with a thin off white head. Nice roasted malt flavor(s), sweet, with a bitter finish. Heavy, and tasting pretty nice on this cool night.

Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Good lacing. Roasted malts and coffee aroma. Balanced hop and malt combo with mild coffee and chocolate flavor with some caramel notes. Mildly sweet palate with a creamy mouthfeel. A little bitter aftertaste but not bad. Overall...fair. Worth more than a try. A good occasional beer.

Pours a rich blacl with a khaki head, gives great lacing down the glass. Aroma is sweet chocolate and coffe notes. Flavor is smooth baker’s chocolate, mild coffee, and mellow grassy hops. Fairly sweet and tangy. A decent porter, to say the least.

Great porter. All flavors of chocolate, coffee and malty are evenly balanced. Great finish, maybe I have a good batch based on other posts.

Black with a medium tan head. Aroma is hoppy and roasty. Doesn’t have the strong chocolate taste found in many porters. The finish on this beer is very bitter and hoppy. Malty with a creamy mouthful. Instead of letting the flavors develop at the end the bitter ending of the beer quickly hits the reset button.

Draft. Drak black beer with a big beige head. Nice roasted malt and coffee aroma and flavors. The roastiness tends to trend off after the first bite, but overall it’s a nicely balanced porter that’s a bit smooth with an almost creamy mouthfeel.

Tap. Finally I get some of this stuff! Black w/mahogany lacings; huge head. Decent but disappointing to a fan of Rogue’s chocolate stout and hazlenut brown. The mocha flavors are not very distinct and it’s more like a regular porter to me.

Big, somewhat large bubbled head over a black brew. There were distinct coffee flavors that seemed to be knocked back by a too hoppy finish. Slightly better than most porters. I expected a better experience.

On tap at the portland tap house. Pours black with a off-white head that leaves some good lacing. Not quite as strong of an aroma as I remember, faint chocolate and coffee and slightly roasty. Taste is very smooth but feels a bit thin. The chocolate comes through nicely and the coffee apears more in the aftertaste with a good roasty end. Good bitterness at the end to balance it out a bit.
