Bottle. Pours oily black, like a stout with a dark tan head. Aromas of equal part coffee and chocolate with lesser amounts of bitterness and roasted malt. The taste has all of the flavors of the aroma. Since I bought this almost a year ago, the taste is not as bitter but still leaves a sticky, oily texture on the tongue. The roasiness of the malts makes this silky smooth.

Smells yummy-yum yu, like awhole lotta fun. Warm and rich, with roated coffee, chocolate and malt. Head like a nuclear war-head induced cloud, tan and sticking to the glass. It’s hanging around. Spike TV is so dumb, but so entertaining. Whoa, bitter as hell. Funky coffee taste with a bitter hoppy bite. Kinda thin and weak in the mouth but it’s warming me up. Shhwweeeet!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. A black beer with a short-lived tan coloured head. The aroma is of chocolate and coffee in equal measures. The taste is full with chocolate, coffee and hoppiness. It’s a good beer but too much coffee for my liking making it a bit difficult to drink.

Thanks to 123456Green for this brew! I’m suprised I couldn’t get there where I live, but oh well. Pours the same color as all Poters, but the head is somewhat bubbly, but pretty well lasting. Aroma is Espresso, frappucino, bitter chocolate, malt, somewhat roasty. Very chocolatey, and a very present espresso aftertaste. Pretty complex for a porter, it would be nice to have this barrell aged, but I doubt that will ever happen. Palate wasn’t smooth enough though.

Yip, this is good. Dark, with a nice, thick head. Flavor is quite prounounced and somewhat typical of the style. What distinguishes this beer, in my mind, is the sweet backbone in the finish. Will have to try again.

Pours a very black color with a slight reddish brown tint and a big fluffy tan head. the aroma is of chocolate and coffe with a little caramel fruitiness. this beer has a nice mouth feel and is very smooth. strong roasted coffee flavors up front. sweet and chocolated. some citrusy/grapefruit ups on the end. there is a long lingering coffee aftertaste. this a a very good drinkable beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured ruby black with a thick tan head...aroma of bakers chocolate, day old coffee, maybe some sort of berry...body much thinner than I would have expected...bitter chocolatey finish, but not smooth bitter like regular porter, over hopped bitter, like a Rogue over the top porter...

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black in color and poured a creamy full brown head that reduced in size, but maintained a good presence. The lace ringed the glass. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The taste is sweet, roasted, and chocolate with a real dry hop finish. The mouth feel was smooth and creamy with some carbonation. Not very complex, but offered a good balance of sweetness and a hop finish.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Almost black with a tan head. Not much aroma, with coffee and malt dominating. Very nice, with the chocolate understated and pleasantly bitter. The palate was very smooth and velvet, with a nice finish.

A very good porter, I’d rank this up with Anchor and Stegmaier Porters as some of the best that I’ve had to date. Does Rogue make a bad beer?
