Bottle. Poured dark brown with burnt orange highlights and a moderate tan head. Aroma is dark toasted malts, coffee with hints of chocolate and grapefruit hops. Flavor features the bitter-sweet coffee malts upfront, a little bakers chocolate in the middle and a smooth molasses and hop finish. Medium full body with a moderate carbonation. This one is best quite warm.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2006 12/4/2003 - The beer is very dark and had a thin, light-brown head. There was a light chocolately molasses aroma. Flavor was light and a little sweet. Maybe also a bit salty. Finishes with a definte bitter edge. I noticed the bottom of the bottle had some residue at the bottom... looked almost like chocolate? Overall, it was not too powerful, but still had good flavor, though I could have lived without the long-lasting bitterness afterwards (6 / 3 / 6 / 3 / 13). Rerate of n00b rating; 5/4/2006. Thick creamy tan head. Creamy lactic chocolate aroma. Tastes like a coffee-laced porter with some rich chocolate thrown in. Dry coffee finish. A bit thin, but good full flavor.

Mild aroma. Slight roasted malt, slight hops. But very clean and inviting. Pours very dark brown, with a medium carbonation and thin tan head that does cling to the glass, however. Medium body, slightly dry. Hops make themselves know in the finish, which is quite dry. The malt and hops intertwine nicely throughout. I've been drinking many different porters over the last few weeks and this is one of the better ones.

Thick dark pour- light shall not pass-thick tan head-left some nice lacing- Chocolaty nose hints of coffe- Roasted malty flavor that mirrors the nose with the choco-coffee prescence. Subtle hoppy finish that almost gives it a bite in the end. Very nice

This was a very interesting beer. It poured a dark tan head, and had a very dark color. The aroma was nice with hints of chocolate and coffee. The Flavor was malty, with the bitter chocolate flavor coming through. Very good.

Porters are starting to grow on me, ummm. Big and dark. They must have a heap of hops and chocolate malt in here. Chocolate brown head, beautiful lacing, smooth, bitter, and tangy. If you like dark bitter chocolate, get in line for this.

Dark, almost black color with ruby around the edges. The head was tan, and somewhat lasting. Also laced the glass a bit. The aroma is mostly coffee with some coco evident as well as malts. The taste was again coffee, but also some bitterness. Finish was smooth.

Nice roasted aroma to this deep dark bottle pour with decent off brown head. Very much a coffee and roasted espresso taste to it. The finish is of deep roast coffee that finishes with big hop bitters.

Ok bought in the screen printed 22 oz brown bomber..label looks a lot different than the one displayed on the page. Appearance is of deep dark, dark brown almost black beer..impenetrable to light..small frothy tan head..leaves nice lacing. Smell for a Rogue is surprisingly weak..but I do detect some chocolate and hop hints. Nice strong taste of the coffee and malts at first then the ubiquitous hops spring forth in ambush..very unusual and nice. Nice on the palte pretty adventurous. Nice drinkable porter..winter is here and im enjoying porters so much more again.
