UPDATED: OCT 14, 2010 Poured from a bottle into a small, belles glass. The head was enormous. Body is dark brown and the head is a beige color. Aroma is malty with hints of chocolate. Taste is dark chocolates with a somewhat bitter finish. Very good beer, but what else would you expect from rogue.

Bottle. Aroma: chocolate, coffee. Appearance: brown/black, cloudy, tan foam. Taste: heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, more coffee, chocolate, and roasted flavors. Palate: medium body, creamy. Served for my dessert course with a poached pear topped with cinnamon, brown sugar, and a kahlua reduction.

From a 355ml bottle on 28/9/2010. Not surprisingly, has a good dose of coffee and chocolate on the nose. Flavour wise, there is more coffee and chocolate, roasted malt and a slightly smoky character. Has a real bitter kick and a slightly lemony sourness. An enjoyable, well balanced porter.

nice hint of chocolate is blended with a balance of light roasted malt for a really nice porter that continues my respect for Rogue Brewery

12 oz bottle: Pours a dark, chocolate brown with a light tan head. Aroma is of chocolate malt and a smooth hoppy balance that is also reflected in the taste of this beer. Smooth and easy to drink, a well balanced porter with a nice chocolate flavor.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scubaguy (230) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 20, 2010
The flavor is a smokey wood and as well some dark chocolate and some burnt coffee. All the elements are very bold.
On the nose I am getting roasted coffee and vanilla
Pours a dirty brown with a creamy tan colored head with a large amount of lacing. It also has a large amount of carbonation.
It finishes bittersweet. This bitterness tends to linger around. With some coffee in the aftertaste. I am a huge fan of Rogue. But this one is just ok. It’s worth checking out. But no wow factor that i have experienced with some of there other stuff.
