Dark brown with garnet. Small lasting beige head. Malty nose with a hint of hops. Chocolate dominates with some coffee notes. Pleasant bitterness. Smooth on the palate, full bodied and finishes roasty bitter. Pleasant porter. Ticks all the right boxes. 12floz bottle

Pours out a perfect deep black, certainly can’t see through this rascal, with a nice tan head. The nose is surprisingly fruity, along with some dark malt & coffe. Palate is warm & rounded retaining a nice crispness too. The flavours are exactly how I like my black beers, lovely roast maltiness, with plump fruit being countered by bitter dryness with coffe & choco sitting comfortably.

Surprised I haven’t rated this. Pours a thick dark black brown color with a foamy brown head that persists. Notes of dark chocolate, coffee, chocolate syrup, burn brownies and caramel, with back end green notes from the hopping. Not bad but I would like to see it more concentrated.

Pours rather dark with a tan creamy head that dissapates quickly. Well, the aroma is pretty spot on for what I would expect. Aromas of chocolate, some roasted coffee, but there is this bit of sweet candy that comes through. Perhaps it’s a bit of black licorice I’m smelling, not really sure. But as this beer sits, the chocolate/mocha quality becomes more and more pronounced. The mouthfeel is a little thin, but the flavor is pretty nice. Rich bitter coffee mingled with chocolate and a bit of nuts as well. The finish is rather lengthy and coffee-bitter-ish. Decent beer!

A- Body is a dark chocolate brown color. Pours with a small, about 1/2 finger fizzy tan head. Head fades to a thick collar and leaves some traces of lacing. S- Roasted chocolate malt. That’s about all there is to it. A roasted coffee scent. T- Roasted coffee flavors upfront provided by roasted dark malt. Flavor is consistent all the way through but the finish adds an extra hint of roasted malt bitterness. P- Medium to high carbonation and body has medium consistency. What one would expect with a porter. O- This is a decent porter and is exactly what the label describes. Would have liked to see some more complexity but this is good as it it. Probably won’t have it again because I prefer other rogue offerings much more. Definitely worth a try. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-24-2008 14:08:06

Pours very dark brown with a creamy off white head. Pure Cacao aroma. very hoppy and clean with a deep chocolate flavor. Long, bittersweet finish.
