Pours a nice deep brown color with a thin tan head . Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasty. Flavor is pretty similar, with lots of coffee and chocolate notes. Medium body, pretty decent.

Bottle. A strong malty aroma, coffee and chocolate, also some brown sugar. The head is medium large, creamy and beige with a long duration. The body is black. The taste is quite bitter, coffee and malt. The finish is light metallic. The body is medium strong, creamy with a normal carbonation.

Super dark brown. Basically black. Two-fingers of chocolate tan colored foamy head. Good retention and quite good lacing.
Sweet barley malts. Chocolate milk. Butterscotch. Vanilla toffee. Toasted nuts. General earthiness. Light coffee notes. Smells very dessert like.
Burnt milk chocolate covered caramels. Roasted coffee beans. Touch of vanilla. Sweet maltiness takes the backseat. Mild earthy hops.
Not as good as the nose would have me believe, but still tasty.
Nice creamy and medium bodied. Carbonation is a touch too sharp, but easy enough to get around. A touch thin, but still enjoyable.
Great session beer. Less than 6%ABV and there is enough going on in this bottle to keep you interested, yet not enough to overwhelm you. Smooth and easy drinking.

Fruit and hop aromas. Black smooth on the palate and strong in alcohol with a little bitterness in a crisp lasting chocolate roast finish.

Decent black beer with soft coffee aromas with a fair amount of sweetness. That siad have had plenty better in this style.

12oz bottle. Dark brown in color with small tan head. Aroma is not what I thought. All the normal smells of a nice porter, but I got none of the mocha. Flavor was the same. Nice porter that was very rich and smooth, but again nothing really on the mocha/coffee flavor.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 I’m re-rating right now. This ends up being a little better than previously rated. Not as sour as I remember. Nice chocolate, and dare I say, mocha flavors. Little dairy in there, but it is not entirely unpleasant. yeah, this flies with me pretty well.

Bottle.
Pitch black with lace. Aroma of coffee, liquorice, some dark fruit, hops.
Flavor includes some chocolate as well as those. Woody, hoppy, very bitter finish. Interesting and flavorful.
