Excellent deep bitter dark chocolate notes and a bit of milky goodness. Not sweet like many chocolate porters. Awesome. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a black body, with an average light brown head that diminishes slowly, leaving a fair lace. Aroma of coffee mostly, maybe some mocha notes. Light sweet, very light taste, can get a little bit of mocha, but something is weird here, not bery balanced. Medium bodied, watery texture, nice carbonation level. Could be better.

12 fl oz bottle. Dark black colour with a small creamy brown head. Aroma is of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate and a dry bitter coffee finish. Well balanced.

After a few, lets be honest, dreadful Finnish beers in Helsinki, I had this beer to reel me back in. A good roast coffee with some caramels, there’s a chocolate flavor here, but on the bitter side, not sweet, which really works wonders on the beer. This is a beer for dark winter nights in candle light. Sublime!

I revisited this after having some 18 months ago. It’s still slightly disappointing in that I thought that this lacked body and the mull mouth feel that I might have expected, or over expected. It is nicely porter fruity and decently bitter, the head dies quickly and leaves a decent lacing. Aroma is the fruits and mostly chocolate, for me.

12 oz bottle poured a dark brown. Little head. Smells of coffee and chocolate. Bittersweet cocoa and coffee dominate the taste with hints of vanilla, bourbon and oak. Medium bitterness at the finish. Excellent porter!

355ml bottle at home. Dark clearish brown with a small off-white head. Light to medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Coffee, chocolate, bread, caramel, brown sugar and dark fruits. A decent porter.

Well a nice porter style offering by Rogue; as the name implies, stronger on the coffee side than the dark malty side of this porter. Roasty coffee aroma, some caramel sweetness on the nose. Taste is mocha coffee with subtle chocolate malt, more cocoa bitterness than sweetness. Appearance was classic porter, nearly black ruby-accented color with khaki head, nice cascade effect similar to a Guinness when poured. On that note, finished more dry like a stout. Interesting and pleasant, but not my personal favorite porter. A little too light and thin mouthfeel. Flavor intensity could have been stronger too. Still, very good overall.

Pours very dark with brownish head. Very nice aroma for a porter. Unlike the smell, it doesn’t taste sweet
