dark opague brown with a minimal reddish hue, big-bubbled tan head. very little aroma, some chocolatety roastiness. roasty malty flavours, little chocolate and maybe some coffee. medium body, appropriate carbonation, medium bitterness. more like a sweet stout than a porter, me thinks. alright, certainly not great.

Bottle. Too dark here to really see the beer properly, but it looks black enough for a porter. Head might be... thin, brown, perhaps? Let’s go with that, yeah. Intense, sweet roasted malt aroma, with notes of brandy, dark chocolate, and molasses. Really smooth flavor of roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark fruit, and sherry. Mocha indeed! Very descriptive name, I must admit. Slight hint of hop bitter in aftertaste, but otherwise smooth and sweet as a cup of hot chocolate (with a dash of brandy, of course). Full bodied, mildly carbonated, and amazingly smooth. May I have more, please?

12oz bottle. Pours a black body with a finger-width, creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma is sweet and bready malts, soft roasted grains, mild coffee, and a good amount of chocolate. Some light fruits, but mainly a bold porter aroma which I really like. The flavor is somewhat slow and light at first, but immediately explodes towards the middle and finish with loads of aftertaste. The initial flavor is sweet caramels before yielding to a big, rich chocolate and roasty taste. Nice additions of coffee and woody hops that really come through in the finish. Really bold flavor. Dry finish and a very roasty, somewhat smokey aftertaste that lingers for quite a long time. Palate is medium to full bodied with a light carbonation. Overall, this is the flavor I look for in a porter. Packs a punch. Not extremely complex, but loaded. Great.

A roasty soft coffee aroma, the taste comes with a bit of a delay but offers much of the same with more dry bitter notes. A good beer but way too thin.

On tap at Rogue Ales Public House in SF. Black in color with a creamy tan head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and roast. Flavor is great with coffee and cream, chocolate, roasty smokiness, and a touch of hops. Smooth and creamy palate, but could use a little more body.

Bottle Pours a good black with a creamy lasting tan head. The head produces decent lacing. The aroma is a good mix of hops and sweet malts. I get coffee and chocolate. Has a good carbination and mouthfeel. Has an oily texture. Very well balanced. Has some good flavors. Not a super finish but okay. A little bit on the softer side for a porter. Has a lighter body. It is good but not as deep as I would have hoped for from Rogue.

Flaske: Sortbrun øl med et kæmpe skum. Duft af porter, men smagen er rigtig god. Sødlig brændte fugter og en anelse tobak. Dejlig øl.
