Didn’t much care for this one. Dark brown color, tan head. Nose was light chocolate, taste had the same light chocolate and even lighter coffee, but with a fairly heavy dose of hoppiness in the finish. Fairly thin. Really didn’t care for the hoppiness of this one and thought the chocolate and coffee flavors were underwhelming and the body far too light.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dense near black with a finger of tan suds. Nice aroma of lightly roasted grains, toasted almonds, some sweetness, maybe a little buttery. The flavor is smooth and gentle while being assertively grainy with an earthy bitter from the roast. Bitter chocolate almost raw tasting, some nuttiness, just a hint of sweetness. Easy drinking and grows more full on the palate as it settles in. Good brew.

Nice slightly milk chocolate colored creamy longlasting head. Aroma is sweet, dark malts, mocha, licorice, HaPå Sjoko (Norwegian caramelly breadspreading with chocolate flavour), dark sugar, hints of coffee and dark fruits. Taste is dark malts, grass, mocha, hops, licorice and coffee. Medium bitterness, thin watery mouthfeel. Nice, but they need to do something about the taste / mouthfeel.

I made my first ever dark malt home brew that tasted just like this, quite proud of it but felt I should be able to improve. Ditto this one
