Bottle (12 oz / 355 ml). Dark brown with rich flavor and aroma while pouring into beer glass. Taste of American malt and hop is very unique and gets along with tofu cuisine and sukiyaki.

bottle. Nice and black with a light coffee colored head. Aromas of coffee, white pepper, roasted malt and chocolate. Smooth texture with a good hop spiciness, and flavors of coffee, chocolate some malt. very good in my mind just wish it had more alchy.

The Starbuck Macchiato of mocha porters, this offering has all the addicitive and rather expensive qualities of that special flavored drink; richness, sweetness, and satifying flavor. I’d recommend.

Bottle. Utterly pitch with an attractive yellowy tan head. Looks good in a McChouffe tulip. Beautiful juicy hop-drenched aroma of passion fruit, grapefruit and pithy citrus; pecan and cheesecake creamy malt nuttiness and background biscuit.; dab of mocha so tastefully integrated it’ s barely there, Nutella on charred wholegrain. Mouth bitter and burnt with a fair dollop of alcohol. Burnt toast, soap and quinine mellowed by nutty hints and powdery cocoa. Imperial Leather and grapefruit for dessert. No real surprises and 2 bottles would be boring it’s so dominated by hop soapiness, but still an aromatic and enjoyable beer.

BIG tall head. REALLY big tall head. It was a normal 12oz bottle, but I could only pout 2/3 of the beer into my glass when normally I can pour the whole bottle. Tan head has large bubbles. Body is nearly black with no light passing through it. Nice flavor. The roasted malts are not overdone and really taste like bitter chocolate upon first taste, with bitterness being more pronounced on the palate and tongue after swallowing. Some sediment in the bottle after pouring. Light malty aroma. Clean, but nothing that screams wow. This is certainly a keeper on my list of porters to drink.

Pours dark brown with burnt sugar highlights and a 3 finger rocky tan head that has good retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is roast, milk chocolate, toffee, light roast coffee, some earthy and dried fruit notes. Flavor is charred roast, hints of espresso, baker’s chocolate, a little pine, molasses cookies and some wood like char notes. Finish is bitter hops, char, roast, toffee and a little more of an acidic aftertaste than I would like. Palate is overcarbonated, thin, slightly slick and has a slightly too dry finish.

Black pour with one finger frothy tan head. Aroma is rich creamy malty roast. Flavor is a nice combination of roast, coffee and chocolate. Very well balanced. Palate is nice and thick and creamy- finish is dry and roasty.
