frankenkitty (1799), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Apr 22, 2005 Topped off with a huge, spongy, light brown head that lasted in a puffy film, this was an opaque dark brown with lovely deep red highlights... showcasing a murky microcosm of slow effervescence. Aromas started with a chewy chocolate toffee, turning to a pronounced smoke, dough and dark fruit nose. Flavor was nice and bitter from start to finish with a pleasant, vinous middle. Well-roasted coffee flavors and a spicy bite at the end. Syrupy mouthfeel with a dry finish. Awesome. I may have found a new favorite porter.

goozen (785), Leiden, Netherlands Oct 15, 2008 Bottle: Almost black Baltic-Porter style brew with note of chocolate and coffee. Just like this Oregon-brew. lithy (247), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 13, 2008 Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Deep brown with ruby hints at the edges. Slight mocha and chocolate notes. Mostly overwhelmed by simple roasted malts. Taste is some milk chocolate or mocha coffees. Lightly roasted malt bitterness leads to a quick finish. yalnikim (666), Wellington, New Zealand Oct 12, 2008 Tasted 05/10/2008. 22oz bottle thatfell into a box of hops I was sent (lucky me). Pours near black with ruby highlights and an airy tan head. Espresso, toasty bread and chocolate on the nose. Smooth off-dry malt character, light-bodied, with a drying bittersweet chocolate and more espresso flavour through the middle and end. Charred finish. Clean. Nicely hopped. Very pleasant. rocbyter (672), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Oct 8, 2008 Moderate spicy malt with a hint of medicine. Dark brown with a small short lasting brown head. Sweet malt beginning developing a brown suger flavor in the middle. The finish is slightly bitter. robinvboyer (1056), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Oct 7, 2008 nice subtle sweet roasted malt aroma, with a touch of hops. Flavor is obviously chocolaty, with a touch of smoke, and some nice coffee, and roasty malt flavors. A nice porter, not too think, not too thick, just right, and very easy drinking. solid.
