TOO BITTER. The worst porter I’ve had so far. Even with it being the worst porter it was semi-drinkable.......I like porters.

Pretty light and with a hint of smoke. Okay, but I really just fiend for a quality stout when I drink this kind of beer.

I was disappointed with this, I was expecting this to have a chocolate and enlightening taste to it but the flavor was weak at best. A little too bitter for a porter also. Pours great and does hold a mild coffee like aroma but overall I probably leave this one on the shelves for someone else to try

bottle 2004 at toasted heads bar and grill for Simon happy hour. Aroma of chocolate with classic Rogue style flavors of caramel, coffee, swiss miss, roasted hops and lovely herbs. Taste of malty but not over the top. The flavors mixed together to form a well balanced porter that was nice after a meal.

Dark brown, nice head. Aroma is like roasted chocolate bar. Flavor is roasted and bittersweet, with the chocolate coming through sort of like Hershey’s syrup (not the strongest part of the beer). Luckily it isn’t very strong anyway. The underlying porter flavors are nice though. Finish is pleasant amount of bitterness (perhaps more than most porters, but still good), very creamy smooth mouthfeel. This is definitely one of the border straddlers between porter and stout.

Pours a nice dark golden brown color. A nice head that stays around, leaving some gorgeous lacing. Very Nice! Smell is very light carmel, almost a smokey like smell going on (I am not very fond of it). Taste is a strong burnt carmel, along with some dark chocolate. Not to much carbonation going on here. Drinkability, I would have to say is moderate. It isn’t my favorite porter, and the bottles are quite big, seeing myself only having one at a time. Overall, not to bad, definitely worth a shot. Tame porter taste. Pours darker and smells heavier than it tastes. Not a lot of mocha flavor. Decent

12oz. bottle into pint glass. Pours a thick, dark brown with a thick tan head the stays throughout. Strong aromas of coffee, malts and a hint of chocolate. Flavors of hazelnut, toffee, and caramel with a slight hoppy finish. A little over-carbonated, but has a smooth, rich mouthfeel. I see a few six-packs in the near future.

A slightly musty, vegetable aroma. major characters are nuts (hazel, almond) and milk chocolate . Some floral hops notes. Mellow Dark malts, well balance. Smokiness mellows as you drink more. The chocolate tastes more bitter + dark than in the nose, with a sweeter chocolate taste developing in the finish. Minor coffee flavor, It really does taste like a mocha!! The raw nuttiness is my favorite part of the flavor. Bomb creamy texture, somewhat thin. Nice dry finish that admirably completes the flavor cycle of this treat of a porter

quite nice and drinkable, but surprisingly unchocolatey and watery. just doesn't seem well rounded to me, or up to par with their other great brews. just gave it an above average score. still better than most
