Nice thick look. Smell of hops. Flavor is of course very hoppy. My over all impression is high of this beer very thick and tasty beer.

Pours dark brown/ruby color with a tan head that quickly dissappates. Aroma a burnt roasted choco- coffee smell, and something else that I cant quite place. Decently carbonated, moderately flavorful, can be sweet at times, others times complex, sometimes simple. kind of like a women. Decent brew from Rogue.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2007 Wow, this stuff is really, really good. Nice, thick, dirty brown head that sticks around. I can defintely taste coffee. Fantastic aroma. Beautiful dark color, and surprisingly smooth.

Beautiful Brown with tan head. Aroma of coffee and toasty malt. Sharp on the tongue with strong roast and coffee. Not really my ideal porter, but tasty.

Watery and disappointing. Not the two great tastes that taste great together (coffee and Rogue beer) one would expect.

It pours reddish brown from bottle and then settles very dark in the glass with some reddish/amber hue near the edges. Thick and frothy head; Tan in color. Coffee; and smokey roasted malt. I didn’t really pick up on mocha or chocolate till later; it seemed much more subdued. Medium body; dry mouthfeel. Carbonation is noticeable. Beer lingers a little after taking it down. Feels thinner than I would prefer.

Bottled. Pint. Another pitch black porter with very little head. Very vague sweet aroma which reminds me of roasted malt. Decent mouthfeel, which is medium in body. Roasty flavor that has a coffee finish. Dark chocolate flavors are present. All the nuances are pretty balanced. Good.

When you poured it has a a nice black colour. The head was beige and lingered, a little too carbonated. Flavour of strong hops w\ a great coffee and mocha hints. The aftertaste lingures of toffee. Smells exactly like it taste. ****great brew*****

Dark dark brown color with uneven settling thick brown head. Strong chocolate aroma, with bread and slight sourness. Milk chocolate in flavor with some sweetness mixed with a bit of roasty dryness. Thick mouthfeel. Yum.
