Pours dark brown with a coffee head. Aroma of molasses, chocolate, and a roastiness. Flavor is roasted malts and bittersweet chocolate along with coffee. This is a pretty good drink after dinner.

Solid beer. Good dark color; lets you know it means business. Nice chocolatey, creamy finish.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2005 bottle. How can a describe this one? This is a great beer but its missing a little something in some category to be on the top. Deep black color with reddish tint with a thin tan head that goes off quickly. Smells like malts and chocolate (subtle). Taste: rosted malt and bitterness (chocolate and hops) at the finish.

This beer I couldn't finish. No discernible nose. Black color with small quickly dissapating head. Flavor was odd. No real coffee flavor just an odd tart finish. Maybe a bad bottle, but one I won't try again soon to find out.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2006 This was a very nice, sweet, light, drinkable porter. It didn’t amaze me with really strong flavor, but it was very pleasant and went down smooth. I liked the aroma of chocolate flavor, the texture was pretty good, coudl have been a little thicker. I would drink it again.

Has a rich, dark appearance - very nice. Immedaite flavor is chocolaty, with a medium bitterness. Has a full body and strong aftertaste. It definetly asserts itself in a powerful way

pours dark red and brown. a nice surprise in this bottle. smelled sweet and citrusy with a darkness of chocolate and nuts. tastes are woodsy, pine, citrus, roasted malts and a little milk. i like the way the foam puddled around the top.

Aroma is hard to pinpoint. It smells semi strong, just not sure what it smells like. Taste is medium sweet up front. Can not taste a whole lot of mocha. Finish is hoppy which is interesting for a porter. Overall a pretty nice and unique porter. I would have again.

Pours a dark black with a big frothy head; roasty aroma; has a very refreshing flavor of chocolate and malts. this is another good beer from a great brewery. I will now join the nation and so should you!
