Bottle @ Kolding Bryglaug Americans tasting.
Bought @ Det Lille Ølhus, Ribe.
Pours deep mahogany, nearing opaque black. A great, creamy, beige head with fine lacing. Aroma is soft coffee and a touch of chocolate. Light mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Flavour is light coffee-based at first, then dries out considerably adding lots of dry mocha coffee notes and light hops. Sadly a bit too thin.

Aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, and perhaps coffee. Opaque brown/black color with ruby hilites on the edges. A beige head stays. A bit thin in body; moderate, almost creamy carbonation. The flavor starts with roasted malt, accompanied by significant bitter. There are notes of chocolate and coffee. The finish is very dry, bitter, and has remnants of burnt toast and baking chocolate. A very subtle sour touch comes and goes.

Delicious, Rich, Bold. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a black-brown with a creamy beige head. Nose is all burnt malts, chocolate and coffee. Flavor reinforces the aroma, with some sweetness to balance the bitter, roasted malt backbone. Heavy mouthfeel. Smooth and creamy on the finish, this beer leaves a pleasant, rich, bitter, burnt flavor on the palette. Again, delicious.

Dark brown in color with a khaki head. Stale coffee, harsh roastiness, bitter dark chocolate, and coffee grounds. Not a fan of the aroma. The flavor is really no better. Quite bitter with tons of roasted malt and coffee ground flavors. Some bitter dark chocolate, a bit of earthiness, maybe some slight malty sweetness. Meh.
